My wife is still trying to find a good pair of walking sandals for our upcoming trip. She is looking at the Columbia Interchange as well as the Teva Vang. She wanted me to post and see if anybody has any thoughts one way or another.

Croc's are definitely the way to go! Although not as "pretty" as I would like, they are comfortable and saved my feet several times...hope that helps

I have to say try to find a store that carries the sandles she wants so she can try them on. I was going to order Tevas online but waited to try them on at a local Sports Authority. The flip flops were very comphy but I wanted sandles and the teva sandles just rubbed my foot the wrong way! I know people swear by tevas my DH included! I found a nice pair of OP sandles that were really comphy.

I also have to mention that I went in search of crocs as many people hear swear by them. Again they did not fit my feet right. One size my toes rubbed and then next size was to big. They were also very wide(and I do not have small feet)

Best advice I can give is try them on before you make or your wife makes a decision. It reall does make a difference.

Merrils!!!
I forgot my walking shoes, and alternated my merrils and tevas and reef flip flops. My feet, and they are horrible, high arches, bunions etc, did great!

I have 2 different styles of merrils, and now they will be going on sale, I'm going for another. No more hot tennis shoes for me!

I bought TEVAS for our trip in June and wore them brand new to the parks and they were the MOST comfortable pair of sandals I even owned!!!

I don't recommend Tevas if your wife has wide feet. My feet are wide and even though the straps are velcro and adjustable on top in several places, the width of where the strap fastens to the insole just wasn't right for my wide foot. I understand they work fine for people with narrow and average width feet, however. Be sure that she finds something comfortable for her foot because she will be miserable otherwise with all that walking.

If she goes to a store that carries Keen sandals, by all means she should try some on. They are soooo comfy! (Note: Even though the 7.5 (my regular size) fit me, the 8 felt better.)

Just got back from Dicks Sporting Goods where she found a nice pair of Merrils just not in a color she likes. She thought they were really comfortable so she is going to see if she can get some in a different color online somewhere.

wow great tips everyone! i've always stuck with sneakers at the parks up until my last trip where i wore birkensocks sandals alternating with open backed very comfy 'sneakers' worked well for me hope this helped! :Pinkbounc

The best advice on a subject like this is to try them on at a store. You can get 4,000 opinions here on this subject that may be completely useless to you. Everyone's feet are different and what is comfortable for one may not be comfortable for another. As an example, many people swear that Teva's are incredible..yet some (even on this thread) say that they don't work on their feet. And they don't work on mine either (at least the style of Teva that I have doesn't). I can't wear them for more than an hour or so before my feet get sore. My wife on the other hand has a pair of Earth Shoe's that she says are the most comfortable thing she has ever put on her feet (including sneakers)...yet many people here have said that they don't like Earth Shoes.

So go to the store and try them on...find a pair that feels comfy and try to break them in really well before taking them to WDW.
