My fiancee and I are going for our honeymoon in September, and I keep thinking back to the last time I was there and the fact that after 7 days of walking, I developed painful blisters on my feet on the last day. :sad2: Maybe it was my sneakers (which were recommended as great walking shoes), or just the amount of walking, I don't know...

I've been to Disney multiple times and am quite used to walking around, but have never experienced this.

Has anyone else experienced this? What is the best way to prevent this? I'd hate to have our honeymoon ruined because she or I can't walk.

Before you put your socks on in the morning spray your feet with spray deodorant. It has worked great for us. We just returned from WDW.

Good luck!

Wear good insoles. I would recommend Dr. Scholls Massaging Gell insoles.

I read another post about shoes & such & they mentioned using baby oil. Not sure if it works but I thought I'd pass it on!

I just know that shoes that are great for some people, aren't great for everyone. I have feet that blister no matter what I try, although Body Glide (and the Avon version of it) has helped. I alternate shoes, usually changing to a different pair for the afternoon if we're back in the room. But I also use bandaids as blister prevention, since I know the spots I get blisters most frequently. And I always carry a few extra in a pocket just in case.

Mole skin!! Best thing ever. You can find packs in the footcare section at the grocery store or drug store. It is flannel type fabric that is sticky on one side. If you feel an irritation or'hot spot' cut a piece to the appropriate size and stick it to you foot....then, no blisters!

I am a big fan of Bodyglide when wearing socks/sneakers. I also wear Crocs and Teva sandals during the hotter months. I haven't had a blister in years.

Thank you so much to everybody! I'm sure that you've all made our honeymoon that much better with all your help!!

Another :thumbsup2 for bodyglide. I used it on our last trip and my husband didn't. He got blisters! I didn't! I tried to get him to use it but he told me that he never gets blisters :rotfl:

I believe I posted similar information on another thread so forgive me if you've read this - but... I am a distance runner (40-50 miles a week). My training partner and I would get horrible blisters even with the use of vasoline (which DOES work for normal long hours). However, WRIGHT socks are fantastic. They are made for runners. THey are anti-friction and prevent blisters. MUCH better than regular cotton socks which are the WORSE for runners running long distances. Highly recc. WRIGHT socks. THey are sold at REI and any running store in your area. You can also order them on-line. I swear by mine. No blisters!!! EVen after extreme distances on back to back days of running!

I have to say thank you again! I have never seen a more helpful internet forum than this one! As a relative n00b on the disboards, I have to say this board has the nicest group of people on the internets :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

I swear by moleskin too! Thank goodness I was told about the Disboards before our first trip in 2005. I was all set with moleskin. You can't apply it once you have a blister though so you could put it where you've had blisters before. Have fun!

I try everything. Moleskin is great.
But, if you start to feel a hot spot spraying liquid bandage on it really helps.
You can find in in any drugstore or target, etc.

I had a similar experience back in 2006, I ruined my feet after day 1 and my whole week was ruined, I literally crawled back to our room on the grass, it was AWFUL, after some WONDERFUL advice I got from diser's last year, I had a fantastic trip last year and will be doing the same this year, BODYGLIDE BODYGLIDE, BODYGLIDE, I bought those sock that are made for walking, that let your feet breathe...they have that coolmax material and NEW BALANCE SHOES :worship: .....OMG, NEVER EVER EVER Again will I go to WDW without my New Balance shoes....Hope this helps:thumbsup2

I, too, get blisters, but I didn't this past trip because I wore walking shoes made by Dr Scholls. They had massaging insoles built into them, and they were on $30. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a good pair of walking shoes (especially people who have bad ankles, knees, and back like I do).
