Help with AP questions?

I'll try not to ramble here, I have a tendency to get long winded when I'm explaining something.

We are going (5 of us) as a family in September. We're all getting 1 day base tickets b/c we have a free dining pin. We will NOT be using those tickets b/c we are getting a homeschool 5day hopper ticket. (still with me?)

So, the following spring, 2011, my husband & I will be celebrating 20 years! We want to go to Boardwalk for 3 nights and do the DDP. What I want is to use 2 of those base tickets to upgrade to AP's so we can go the FOLLOWING October as well with the family again (still following???)

BUT, in order to get the ddp, we will have to get yet another base ticket OR have APs...but I can't upgrade the base tickets we will already have until we get there, right? Is there a way to upgrade to an AP with those tickets over the phone or do I have to just ditch the ddp or pay for even more base tickets?

I'm not sure anyone can follow that, but if you can, I would love to know how to get our best value!

You could upgrade the base tickets during your first trip to make them APs (don't use the 5 day tickets for you and your DH....save them for your kids for the next trip)....just make sure your Oct trip the following year falls within the year your APs are valid.

That's the problem...the trip this year is in September, but I'm almost positive that the following year will be in October, so our APs would run out if we upgraded on this trip. Hmmmm....

I guess we could go without the dining plan, but I would rather have the trip paid off and only need money to "play" with on our anniversary trip.

? What is the Homeschool Ticket? I never heard of that one and I do HS my kiddos.

I have similar concerns as you lol.

We have an April trip planned and a trip the week after Turkey Day one booked. We hope for Free dining again. We keep getting mixed info on the part if we have to purchase a base ticket for free dining or not if on the AP.

In January and September they offer special tickets for homeschoolers (as an effort to get people to attend at this time of year, I suppose!) and since you can't get them on the main site, many don't know about them. There are also special classes you can sign them up for. Here is the site (but there is no info on Sept. yet, unfortunately you have to wait until about 3 months before Sept. to get them!)

Gothca, how did you find out about their Sept ones? The Calendar is blank ?

They have had it in September and January for quite a few years. We went in Sept. 2008 with these tickets. There's a chance they could change it, but it's been a regular thing in Sept. and Jan. for quite a while.
