Hi. I am planning a vacation to Disney World from June 4-8 for my family of four (2 adults, DD17, DS11). I am currently very frustrated. I trying to plan out my vacation but I am getting very overwhelmed due to the lack of dining options and times. I would truly appreciate your help.
Scheduled ADRs as of now:
June 4: Yak and Yeti:11 am
Boma: 7:10 pm
June 5: Chef Mickey: 7:35am
California Grill: 5:45pm and 7:30pm
June 6: Mama Melrose: 1pm
Dinner:???
June 7: 1900 Park: 8:10am
Tutto Italia: 7:35pm
-We are visiting AK on June 4. I currently have a ADR for 11am at Yak & Yeti. However, I feel that this is a little early for lunch. I saw that there is many available tables at 12:30pm for a party of 2. If I book two of these timeslots what is the chance that we will sit together? Is this even possible?
- We are visiting MK on June 5. With our 7:35am reservation do you think we will make it by opening to see rope drop? Regarding California Grill, the parade is at 9pm and fireworks at 10pm (even though the park doesn't close until 11pm). My daughter and I want to see the parade since it is no longer Spectromagic but my son and husband could care less. DH thinks that 5:45pm is too early for dinner but I am afraid if our reservation is 7:30 we won't make it in time to see the parade and I don't see another day to see the parade.
- We are visiting HS on June 6. The park is open until 7pm but has EMH until 10pm. There is no availability at Mama Melrose, H&V, or Sci-Fi . DS doesn't like BD or Prime Time. That eliminates all of HS. The restaurants with availability that we were considering include Teppan Edo, Artist Point, Flying Fish, or Kona Cafe. Right now we are on the fence about adding a park hopper but are willing to add it as it might make our trip less stressful. We are trying to stay away from any more buffets.

I would truly appreciate any suggestions, opinions, experience, and help regarding our ADRs. Thanks for your help!:)
Debbie

If you don't want a park hopper, why not eat at a resort near DHS? How about the Cape May buffet? Kona is at a resort as well.

You're getting started a little late. Most of the reservations at popular places will be taken for prime mealtimes.

There's a chance you won't be sat together or even near each other, but they will try to get your parties in the same vicinity of possible.

I think you'll be okay with the Chef Mickey time, but remember to ask for your bill at the beginning of the meal so you aren't waiting for it when you and everyone else is trying to get out at the same time. A 7:30 ADR at CA Grill you WILL NOT make it to the parade, for a signature meal I'd allow at least an hour and a half if not 2 hours.

Flying Fish would be the most convenient. Or Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club
I hope that helps.

-----You can ask but you may not receive. But splitting up is not necessarily a bad thing; gives you and DH a little one-on-one time with the kids (or let them be cool and eat alone, while you get a private meal with DH!)

----- what the prior poster said. At breakfast, get your bill & pay early. Keep an eye on your watch and make sure that everybody understands that you ARE going to leave to make rope drop even if somebody wanted to go back for seconds/thirds/fourths. I don't think 5:45 is too early for dinner. Maybe don't eat even a full CS lunch; just snack from the carts during the day. He'll be hungry enough. And the 7:30 timeslot would certainly make you miss the parade. And maybe DH & DS would like to go ride some headliners with lower crowds while you and DD watch the parade.

----- I personally like Hoppers but see no reason for you to add them if this is the only time you expect to use them. From DHS it's pretty easy to take the boat to the Epcot-area resorts. You don't have to do a buffet. If you want a Signature you have Flying Fish and Yachtsman to choose from. If you don't want to take that long/spend that much there is Captain's Grill at the YC; gets pretty good reviews for the food and often has availability. Beaches & Cream is cute but can be pretty hard to get in to. Then on the Boardwalk you have Kouzzina, ESPN, and Big River Grille. Hopefully one of those choices will appeal to your group and will still have some ADRs open. Otherwise you can take a bus from DHS to any other resort, eat at the TS there, then take the bus back for the rest of the EMH. I just think the resorts accessible by boat are quicker.

Hope you find something that works!

BTW I loved Yak&Yeti! So good, I can't wait to go back. And I agree with you about HS restaurants, nothing there is really worth a TS meal IMO.

If you think 11 is too early for lunch (which isn't always the case once you have been up quite early in the day and have been running around a park all morning lol) then go ahead and book the 2 and 2. If my kids were old enough like yours I'd totally let them sit together ;)

I really don't think 5:45 is too early for dinner, sometimes you aren't seated right away and the signatures last around 2 hours so it isn't as though you are going to be eating everything right at 5:45...by the time you are seated and are actually brought out food it'll be closer to 6:30 probably. I'd stick with this time slot.

Flying Fish for Dinner on your DHS day...we don't do park hopping but if you feel as though it will make your time there less stressful then it's something to consider. I don't feel as though we would utilize it.

You'll be fine in the end! Things will work out ;) Have a great trip!
