Help with adding person to DVC rental

I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have. I rented points for a stay in November at BWV, initially under only my name and my husband's. My daughter is now going with us. I have contacted the DVC owner to add her name to the reservation, but have not had any luck. She answered me once saying she would do it, but that was approximately a month ago. I know I still have time for it to be done, but am curious as to my options if the owner neglects to add her.

Since I am not a member, I understand I am not the owner of the reservation and that I can not call and add her. If I show up with my daughter in tow and she is not listed, I'm guessing they would not give her a room key, correct? So, my only other option is to sneak her in, which I really don't want to do.

I'm hoping that this is just me being paranoid, and that all will work out, but I guess my real question is....what is the chance we would get caught sneaking her into the room, and what would Disney do in that case?

Thanks in advance!!!

Debbie:)

You should be able to add her when you arrive. However there would be problems if you are also getting the DDP. If not then it'll be fine.

That's a relief! I really don't like to "break the law" sneaking her in. And since she is not an early riser, she really needs a room key for those extra magic hours at night! Thanks Kathy!:goodvibes

They can add her at check in- in fact last week they had neglected to add my DH to our reservation (for his birthday trip no less). The one thing being that we were told that to add charging privledges to his key they would have to rebook the reservation (which I understand many times messes up ones points) so if the owner is unable to add your daughter before check in you may not have charging privledges on her key.

I agree, she can be added when you check in no problem. We did it in November when we were staying at the BCV. My DD and SIL got off the cruise ship with us, but were only staying for the day, so we added them to our room so that they could use the room and pool for the day. As long as you stay within the occupancy it's not a problem. Now if she's going to use DME, that might be an issue.

We were going to add the magical express, but got a really cheap deal from Alamo, so that saves us one headache. As for her not being able to charge to the room....that is certainly no problem at all!! I usually don't even take that option for my husband and I. I try to use cash or my debit card, otherwise I get out of control in my spending.

Thanks for the replies, you have all put my mind at ease!

Thanks Bill. I can see it already along with my dining reservations. It still has two guests listed. As long as I, as a non DVC member, can add her at check in, I will be okay. But, it would be nice to have the assurance that she is already added so I don't have to stress out over it!

Keep trying to contact the owner. The Policy is that you can not add a person yourself but some people have. Better to be safe than sorry.

Actually, I had more of a mess on my hands after I called MS to add names prior to check-in (they changed the lead name on my reservation to that of my friend....if I hadn't had my hard copy of the reservation with me they never would have found it). It was nightmare I'd avoid at all costs. Honestly, when I arrived at BCV on a full holiday weekend and the gate guard had no record of my reservation, then the front desk couldn't find it, I almost had a heart attack. The other names I added were completely messed up as well--normal names turned into Tatooine sounding names. And I don't know how they did it, but at one point it looked like we had 10 people listed in the room. The final straw: you know that member survey they send out? One came a couple of weeks later....addressed to my friend!

OTOH, I've added names at check-in numerous times over the years, which was simple and problem free. I'd stick with adding the name at check-in.

GL!!!
