Ok, help! Im in need of a good pair of extra warm winter snow pants. I work in daycare but am also helping run a plow buiness this year. I will be outside a lot and I dont think wind pants will cut it this year.:rotfl: So I cant spend a ton so the carhertt ones DBF keeps suggesting ($70) are so out! Any other good warm brands for a girl on a budget?

Do you have an Aldi near by? The US is so Name Brand fixated that it is crazy! One thing I have noticed since living in Europe, it is quality and not brand that matters. With that being said, ALDI has some GREAT SKI suits...the jacket and pants that they sell and usually the pants for adults are like 25-30 euro so like maybe $40-50 US dollars! I would check there. I went to get my kids their snow pants and jackets from there...it was like Black Friday! Every German in the area was there getting them. One of my good friends is German and she said her kids have worn them and they are great! Of course her high school kid now has to have North Face, but the ALDI brand holds up just the same. They are wind proof, water proof and stand up to the harsh winter months! So if you have an ALDI nearby look for them! ;)

With them being 25-30 euro here they may be $25-30 US dollars it just depends, but worth checking out! I have noticed that if things are $20 US dollars at home, they are 20 euro here, which is more like $25-30 US dollars with the exchange rate (which can get tricky!).

I was going to suggest Carhartt. The thing with spending $70 on a pair of them is they will last for a few years. I worked outside during the winter for a few years and mine still have several years left in them - but they now hang in the basement.

try looking at an Orschlens farm and home store. that is where we get ours.

ALDI is a grocery store chain in my area of the US. I guess in Europe, it's a clothing retailer? :confused3

Burlington Coat Factory stores usually have a good selection of snow pants for decent prices. The best discounts come at the end of the season.

Try looking around to see if you have an army/navy supply store near you. Also check out your area Salvation Army's and Goodwill's.

Tractor Supply Stores might have some. They have decent boots priced reasonably, so they might have snow pants, too. If you need a bargain, check Walmart.com and Target.com or kmart.com. And of course, thrift stores!

I am not sure of your size, but you could try shopping in the children's section. I bought a pair of plain black snowpants for boys at JCPenney for around $20. They were the largest size in boys and they fit me okay. I am an 8-10 and am almost 5'9". I think I saved a bit by buying children's versus adults. Just one thing to consider....

I have those $70 carhartts. They are quilt lined and to tell you the truth, they are too freakin warm. I hunt in those things and my legs are always sweaty.
