Hi I am booked at OKW for Labor Day looking to see other opportunities .
GFV is available like for the whole month and October. This was not available earlier.
If I switched it is Double points.
I have always wanted to try it one of few I haven’t stayed.

They are doing construction but is there any chance I won’t get a balcony?
Thanks

More than 100 new studios were just added to availability last week due to the resort expansion. Rooms listed as "Resort Studio" are the converted hotel rooms in the Big Pine Key building.
Thanks for quick response!
Is this a good location?
Is it like Jambo house where rooms lil smaller?

There are no kitchenettes. No toaster. No microwave and no fridge, just a “beverage cooler” that will not keep food leftovers at a safe to eat temp. You do get 2 regular queen beds (no pullout or pulldown) and a fold down daybed.

The Resort Studios are located in Big Pine Key (Building 9) are larger than the existing VGF Deluxe Studios. The Resort Studios have TWO Queen Beds and a single sofa day bed. They will NOT have a microwave or toaster. They will have a beverage cooler (instead of a refrigerator) and a single serve coffee maker.

Never stayed there before….
Going for Labor Day wknd to validate AP before expires.

Might be worth it for close proximity to parks

There might be a handful of rooms without a balcony. I'm sure you'll get a balcony if you request one. Most of them have a balcony.

Yes I saw that!!!
I’m actually on hold with DVC they are working on it…. Told them 1st request is Balcony!!!!!
That was the reason I never went to Poly before DVC no guaranteed balcony

Wow that’s wierd !
Not even a small fridge… SMH
The new DVC studios are simply all the hotel rooms that were in GF's Big Pine Key building. Some refurb was done but the new studios are mainly just the same as the hotel rooms which had two queens, a couch/day bed and a beverage cooler; no mini kitchen like the original VGF studios. In other words, as little as possible was spent to redo the rooms so the profit margins will be much be larger than if DVD had actually spent the money to turn the rooms into traditional DVC studios.

The new dvc rooms in big pine key are really outstanding (at least the model is). I’d recommend going for it.

I'll stick with my 1br at the Villas. May try a Resort Studio one day. We're going in September for a week, so I'll try to check out the model if possible. Have a feeling I'll be sticking to the Villas though.

Me too. I thought I would be okay with it, even for one night, but not worth the savings in points.

We are trying in July for one night because I can not get the 1 bedroom…well not yet..waitlist and stalking.

I like the location of BPK…but lack of certain things make it worth the extra little walk!

We will mostly miss the true mini fridge and the microwave, but it will also help us not order too much at any meal since we won’t want to take leftovers back to the room. Being at VGF and knowing Gasparillas opens at 6a we will get our coffee (cold brew for me) from there. Excited to try it for 12 nights starting the first night it opens.

Me: The microwave and toaster seem like a silly omission on Disney's part.

Also me: I've used the microwave and toaster maybe 3x combined over the past 20 years, so it's no great loss.

I guess the bottom line is that if you're a fan of microwave / toaster dining in DVC studios, avoid the VGF Resort Studios.

Going to add a regular coffee pot. I don't like single serve, not to mention I drink a lot of coffee in the morning. So, anyone who wants that ability, should also be avoiding them!!!

Also only 1 shower in the resort rooms vs. 2 showers in the deluxe studios (if that's important to you...)

Oh wow!!!!
So it’s like Poly bathroom?
The new resort studios have one shower. The original DVC studios at VGF are like Poly and have two bathrooms.

ETA: Two showers, only one toilet in the original VGF studios and Poly studios.
