Help! Which week would be less crowded in Williamsburg?

We are heading to Williamsburg this summer and have the option of either going -

Friday, June 4th - Friday, June 11th

or

Friday, June 11th - Friday, June 18th

We are leaning toward going the second week, because the condo we really want most is available then. However, crowd wise, do you think the second week will be more crowded? I'm just thinking that the further into summer we get, the worse the crowds will be. Any opinions on how much difference there would really be between the two weeks? When are Virginia schools out for the summer??

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Virginia schools run on county by county dates. Last year some schools did not get out until June 24th due to snow days! As you will be there for an entire week, I don't think you will have many crowd problems that can't be avoided by doing parts of the resored area on different days. Unless there is a re-encatment that you want to see, it does tend to be crowded then, but not anything like WDW.

i don't think there will be much of a difference from week to week. i would go look at their calendar of events (if they have it up this far in advance) and schedule based on what things look interesting to you.

Either of those will be good. About 3 years ago we went out around that second week you have listed and it was fine. We didn't do Colonial Williamsburg but we did Busch Gardens and it was the least crowded I had ever seen it - it was GREAT!!! On and right back on all the major rides, shows weren't crowded - it was nice to just leisurely walk around. Also the Pottery Factory stores weren't that crowded either - easy parking unlike how it can be later in the summer. Have fun!
