We are kind of doing this at the last minute and need a hotel in the DTD area for 2 nights (May 11-13th). Rates are pretty high everywhere, but this is what we have narrowed it down to:

$179/night at the Doubletree Guest Suites (includes free continental breakfest)

-or-

$135 at the Grosvenor for a Tower Room: Disney View

Which would you choose? It will just be a friend and I going.

*also they had a great deal on the Doubletree Club hotel...but it seemed too far away from the DTD area...

Hi, I just checked www.hotwire.com and the hotel which is meant to be the best western in down town disney (near double tree and grosvenor) is going for $47 a night.

If you don't know, with Hotwire you can select which parts of a city you want to stay in, then it brings up a list of hotels but you only get shown the star rating and the ameinities.

if you go to www.hotwire.com, in the city type in orlando, then enter your dates. on the next page make sure the Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney box is checked. A list of hotels comes up but look for the one which is 3 stars and has the following amerinities (click on the icons to see the names of them) Resort, Pool, Restaurant, Fitness, Golf and Laundry.

Now there is no guarentee that this is the Best Western, but by looking at another message board in the past it seems to be the best western. But at nearly $100 off your cheapest option per night, even if it isn't the best western your getting a good deal to be in the lake beuna vista area.

hope this helped...

We really don't want the BW...

We are HHonors members so we are interested in the doubletree and then then location of the grosvenor...

I loved the Grosvenor and for the savings on top of the fireworks view in the tower rooms; there's no question for me. They have a little shop in the front where you can buy your own breakfast for pretty cheap, so the Continental Breakfast really isn't a big deal when you add it up for comparison.
They also sell little Pizza Hut pizzas for later (after dancing at Pleasure Island) :cheer2:
