We are going on a Disney Cruise for four nights next week and then plan to stay three nights onsite at Universal. I have HRH booked at this time but like the theming a lot more at both of the other resorts. I have girls 5 and 9 who love pool slides and swimming (hope it will be warm enough) We really enjoy staying at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian while at WDW. We also like having a bar/restaurant by the pool area. Which resort should we pick????

We loved the Portofino Bay-so did my 11 year old dd. She wanted to move there, and wants to go back badly! We would sit out on the Piazza (sp?) area (either at a restaurant or the bar ;) ) and she would ride the "mopeds" which were cemented in the ground. It was very relaxing. A lot of the kids had the balls on a string, which you can buy at the parks and Citywalk and played with those. The Pool had a nice slide and zero entry with sand. There were 2 quiet pools also.

As far as pools go the Universal onsite hotels encourage you to pool hop but I have never stayed at HRH but have RPR and we just love the hotel and its such a relaxing and beautiful place and our kids are older but they love the RPR too

We have alway stayed at the HRH and really like it. We like the closeness to the parks and City Walk. The pool area is really great - your two would love the slide. The rooms are nice and big and we have never had a complaint about anything in all our stays. We are headed back there in Aug. again.

PBH is our favorite hotel in Orlando. It's quiet and laid back, nice after coming back from the park. There are 3 pools. We've only been to 2 of them, but they are amazing! Staff is wonderful and rooms are nice; comfy beds, too.
We stayed at HRH once. It is a very nice hotel, but we like the quietness of PBH.

Glad to hear someone else loves RPR...it actually appeals to me most of the 3 so I was glad it was (nominally) the least expensive! We will be there for 5 nights in August (see my sig) and I am sorta glad the parks close at 7 p.m. so we will be relaxed enough to pool and restaurant hop at PBH and HRH...all 3 of 'em are a cut above our usual (we're "Days Inn" types, LOL). :rotfl:

Thanks everyone! We are sticking with HRH. I want to get the all access pass...can you get that when you arrive?? Also-is there a certain floor etc I should request? Thanks

I was just wondering the same thing... we are going on a 4 ngiht Disney Cruise on Dec. 5th... and DS9 is a HUGE Simpsons fan, right now we are booked at Boardwalk before our cruise and Bay Lake after our cruise...

but we might want to go for one night before our cruise to RPR or HRH... any recommondations with me, wife, DS9, DS3, DS2...

also, right now RPR is 219 for a Saturday Night, is that a good, fair, or poor price?
