hi everyone. my friend and i are going to wdw aug 26-30. she is so excited about going and really wants to go out one night for a nice dinner. although i have been to wdw quite a few times i don't know where to go since she hasn't really had a "nice" sit down meal in wdw. i have eaten in epcot mostly and i am sure we will have at least one meal there. any suggestions? thanks.

My suggestions:

Epcot: Coral Reef & The Garden Grill
MGM: Mama Melrose's
MK: Cinderella's Royal Table & Liberty Tree
AK: don't know!!

The resorts have fabulous restaurants as well.

have fun!!!

Hessie628,
Our nice sit down meal is usually at the Yachtsman at the YC...but we really like steak and the chance to visit the YC (dreaming of the day when we might actually stay there). We go there every trip for a dinner and the food and service is wonderful!

At Epcot, I agree that the Garden Grill is a great choice. You might also think about eating at some of the resorts. Grand Floridian has some VERY nice, and consequently also very expensive. Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Contemporary and the Poly all have nice places to eat. If you're going to eat at the Contemporary you could possibly get a seat which would be a prime location for viewing the fireworks. Just a few thoughts...

We really like Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge for a nice meal. The atmosphere is really nice, the tables are spread out (unlike CA grill where you feel like you are sitting right on top of someone ...we like CA grill too, but we like Artist Point better)

The food is very good and very well prepared. I especially like the Smoked Portabello Mushroom soup, and the Berry Cobbler for dessert. They have a nice wine list, and they offered a chefs selection menu when we were there in May, which was nice. You got a small portion of a selected appetizer, salad, regular sized entree and a regular sized dessert for $42 (I think it was $42...it was close to that!) I thought it was a good deal.

Check out the menu on allearsnet.com...

Good luck deciding!

Our favorite WDW restaurants for nicer meals are the deluxe resort restaurants. Some of our favorites are: Flying Fish, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Jiko, Cal Grill, Citricos, Artist Point, Shulas and Concourse Steakhouse. There are very good restaurants at all of the deluxe resorts.
For "in park" nicer meals we like Brown Derby and Le Chefs de France for dinnrer or lunch and Le Cellier --for lunch.

We loved our sit down meal at Alfredo's in Epcot's world showcase. It is a nice place, but since it's an authentic Italian restaurant it's loud and the tables are close together. The food was wonderful though and the atmosphere was a lot of fun.

Some suggestions would be Jiko (you guys can also look around at the animals before or after dinner), California Grill (for the fireworks), Chefs de France, or Cinderella's Royal Table (for that totally magical nice meal).

Our favorites are the Yachtsman Steakhouse at YC and Le Cellier at Canada in Epcot. They are both great steakhouses.

Wondering, honestly, what you mean by nice... Like nice (fancy) or nice (awesome food)?

Yachtman Steakhouse is high priced steakhouse food, quiet atmosphere, etc.

But, if you want a great food experience, try something like Boma. Go with an open mind and try a little bit of everything, now that is a nice restaurant.

Is it obvious that my family LOVES Boma? Even picky DD because Boma has the "best" mac and cheese she has ever had.

I like the variety. DH loves the carved meats. DS loves everything! Except maybe the hummus spreads...

Then check the resort out, very cool...
