we are going the end of august... august 23 - still undetermined is how long we will stay...we are a family of four - our kids are 12 & 3, when we go... we are joining my brother, his wife and their kids who are 8 and 10 yrs... finally - we may be joined by another brother & his wife (no kids) ... It is not clear whether we will be staying together or will go our seperate ways for accommodation purposes...

anyway - i was looking at the RPH deal on mousesavers but have read that it's not the best solution with small kids.. (my 3 yr old and there is no kiddie pool there)....

The All Star resorts are coming up over $120 per night, at the moment....

Looking for knowledgable advice on what are the best options at a reasonable price - with good transportation as we'd rather dump the rental car that we will be driving in from a wedding in west palm beach, before Disney...

thanks!

Rachelfran, if I were faced with such a messy situation, I'd enlist the help of a travel agent. Normally I'm a die-hard plan-it-yourself tripper, but with questions about how many people you might have, and attending during a peak season, the travel agents might be able to get you the best rates. Plus, they'll know all the best places for kids -- on and offsite. Lots of Disney-only travel agents sponsor boards like this, but I've heard good reviews from OurLaughingPlace (www.ourlaughingplace.com) and Mouseketrips. A travel agent should be able to help you out and get you the best rates no matter how many times you call them back with changes to your vacation. :wave2:

Consider renting a pol home for the whole lot of you .More space and freedom and your own pool and the pool exits are alarmed for safety and peace of mind .Get in touch if you would like details of a home.

I want to second the pool home idea. Travel agents for starters really can get you good deals. So, if you really want individual hotel rooms, start reading this board and scouring the internet.

Now for the pool home. We traveled with a large part of my family this past fall. We rented 2 homes. The one I personally was in was 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. We had 6 adults and 2 kids (10 & 18 mo). It worked great. We then also had a 3 bedroom where we had 4 additional adults and 1 child (6). The cost for the 5 bedroom was $930.00 with pool heat and tax for 8 nights. We split it 3 ways and it was only $310.00 per family. We had a TON of space and it was nice having our own pool. The washer and dryer were an added bonus. As was the space for the kids to unwind in. I was really leary at first about staying with everyone, but I would do it again in a heartbeat-- it was the best decision we ever made!!!!!

Hi..if you choose a home, which is a great idea for your crew, you will need a car or two. If you do not want a car for sure, it will really limit your options to either on site Disney or hotels with shuttles.
The shuttles can be notoriously slow and inconsistant. I would check out hotel deals around Disney for 3 rooms. (www.hotelkingdom.com www.weeklytop10-orlando.com ) are a couple. Most condos and homes will not be walking distance and will not have trans.
Good Luck...Ted
