My Daughter has just told me she wants to get married at disney in florida in may 2009. She wants the ceremony in front of cinderella's castle and wants to ride in cinderella's coach. We live in the uk and i just dont know where to start or when to start making arrangements. Any tips, links or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Sue xx

Welcome. Go to disneyweddings.com. Just so you know. Those weddings are very expensive. If you look at Sarah and Fred's TR, they got married infront of the castle. Ask as many questions as you like. You will get lots of great advice here.

Well you can check out Disney's official wedding website and use the wish list. You can start contacting Disney a year out from when the wedding date is. Disney is now offering a early morning wedding at the MK starting at $25,000 I believe. To do an event in the evening, it cannot start until 2 hours after the park closes and you are subject to dates and timing by Disney. May is busy with later park hours so I don't know if they will allow a night wedding or reception.

Good luck with the planning.

Sue...welcome! Actually, you can speak with someone from Disney further out than a year (about 18 months I think) but they can only hold the location at a year. The Magic Kingdom ceremony is now only taking place in the morning and Cinderella's Coach cannot be used (I asked!). Since the MK wedding is limited in timing, another option would be the Pavilion since you could use Cinderella's Coach AND have a great view of the Castle!

I'm in the uk as well planning our wedding for 2008, we found it easier to call disney direct as the tour operators here only sell the imitmate weddings which will not include the castle wedding.

I think its around $25000 to get married near the castle but its an 8am wedding the coach is priced at $2700 at the moment and its just gone up

like the other posts say the website is great.

We are getting married at the pavillion which you can see the castle but its not in the magic kingdom as such and we are also going to have the coach and then have a magic kingdom photo shoot so we get photos in our wedding attire near the castle. This might be nice for her to do if you cant get a castle wedding

Hey there! We're in the UK too and dealing direct with Disney. It's much easier and cheaper, I've found. You're going to have lots of fun! Congratulations on being a Mother-of-the-Bride-to be! :)

Congratulations MOB... How exciting to be planning this special day with your daughter... Try going on Disneyweddings.com and contact their office they should be able to give you some information on what you can have and not... Good Luck and Happy Planning:thumbsup2

ps. how come i get all this script under my posts???

Hi Sue, I'm from Notts also!
We are having a vow renewal at the wedding pavilion this December and also having the coach. It's a downer that you can't get anything confirmed until 12 months closer to the time (8 months for most weddings), as I know over here we're much more used to booking wedding venues etc so much in advance (I know I booked everything 18 months in advance for our wedding here!).
I think the best thing is to check out the Disney weddings site initially, check out these boards and then call Disney weddings. Please be aware tho' that the packages and prices seem to change most years!
Happy planning and happing saving!!!
