What to Do???

Well, about 5 weeks ago I started thinking that maybe I could take a trip down to Disney with just me and my 8 year old son in August. The older boys have commitments at home (football and a job), and they are more into Universal anyway. I think my 8 year old is heading in the "i'm too old for Disney" rhelm soon, and I really want to go one more time while he is young. The last time he went he was 3 and the older boys were 10 and 8 do they LOVED it. So, I started thinking that I'd do what I could to save the $$ and put a trip together in just a few months (usually I save for 9+ months for our jaunts to Florida). So, IF i get a room only code; IF i can get a 3-day hopper; and IF i can get really discounted airfares like I've always done in the past.

However, the best room discount I've gotten is AAA rate at POP Century (booked)

I can't get a 3-day hopper (going to check out the Alamo site, but I might not need a rental car); but I may have gotten aroung that as I'll get a UPH even though we don't need water parks...

And I haven't gotten REALLY discounted airfare like I'm used to. I set a bottom line of 125/pp and then we'd go. (have gotten 99/pp in the past from Hartford!) Just checked the travelocity site again this morning (cheapest I have seen) and got a pretty good deal on airfare. They have the dates and times I wanted exactly, and the cost is 363.40 which includes all taxes/fees etc. Do you think this is a good deal? Hartford to Orlando. Do you think I should book it, or hold out for those even more discounted airfares. But, with gas prices the way they are, i'm concerned that airfares will only go UP not down!

Thanx for your input,

check the airfare for southwest.com. I fly out of hartford every year. I booked with delta for end of june trip for about $280 a person. I checked southwest for august and it is down to $79 one way.

They have the dates and times that you want. The price is probably as good as you'll see available for this summer. Even the $79 one-way specials that are being offered add up to about $353 for two passengers when the taxes and fees are added. I say book it!

I would just go for it. It will not be worth $50 to have horrible times, or not be able to get your dates... Sometimes the best deal is the sure thing.

Thank you everyone for your input. I think that it is time to book and then I will NOT ever keep looking at airfares because that would drive me crazy! There's something about buying those Non refundable plane tickets that really cements travel plans for me....How Exciting!
