Okay, I have the shirts and the designs (thanks to the board!). I was originally planning on getting colored shirts, but then decided that white would be better. I bought dark transfers read the directions and washed the shirts (no bleach or fabric softener). Then after I decided to get white shirts I thought I should use the light transfer paper so I bought that...However the directions say (in big letters) Do not wash shirts prior to using the transfer . So we leave on Saturday :yay: and I need to know what I should do. Has anyone ever used transfers that say do not wash on shirts that have been watched? Should I just use the dark transfers? Thanks for any suggestions.

I have never taken the time to read whether to wash them or not. I always do - just like you did. Supposed to be better to soften the shirt. I would just go ahead and do them. Just make sure you print them in mirror image - IF necessary, center them good, and iron them long enough....

The light transfers are better to me and last longer. The dark ones eventually crack and are stiffer and hotter. They just don't give. But that is all I have used lately.

That said, I usually do not use white shirts. Depending on my design, I just have to ignore the white portions and hope it looks decent.
