Hey everybody. :3dglasses (I just think that emoticon is too freakin' cute.)

Anywhoo...I just realized that the dates I picked in November happen to include Veteran's Day, and it might be mega busy....so, I'm thinking of switching dates.

So, here are the three options, and any help would be sooo appreciated and met with good vibes...:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

November 3-8
November 10-15
November 17-21

Also, when we DO go, should we do 3 nights and PP/2 nights at DLH, or the other way around? (I hope the DLH pool is heated...)

You're all awesome blossom, extra awesome. :lmao:

Nov. 3-8 will probably be the least crowded during the week with highest crowds on Friday. You'd see Halloweentime decorations coming down the very beginnings of Christmas decorations going up. No fireworks or fantasmic during the week.

Nov. 17-21 -- You would see a lot more Christmas decorations and probably the tree go up. On Friday you would most likely see the kickoff to the Christmas season with Believe fireworks and the Christmas Fantasy parade.

Oh, and the DLH pool is definitely heated.

Yes, the early or late week would be best. The 10-15 is Veteran's Day and will be more crowded, but really only Monday the 10th. I would try to stay a Friday or Sat night to include the fireworks show. It is truly not to be missed. Why are you splitting your stay? I love both but would probably stay at only one hotel. Have a wonderful trip whatever you decide!:)

Yay for the heated pool!

Hmm...so the 17th-21 sounds good....probably slow too, because people won't arrive for Thanksgiving until the next week...

Yeah...we decided to definitely stay until Saturday so we could see fireworks!
Hmm...I guess we figured we would try both hotels to see which one we like best. (I already have a feeling in my heart that the DLH :mickeyjum will be my fave...but, we'll see!)

We did veterans week in 2005. Our first day in the park was Sunday, and our last was Wednsday. We met up with a friend of my dads who was there Friday-Sunday. We though Sunday was pretty busy, he said it was nothing compared to the last 2 days. After Sunday, the crowds decreased dramaticly (or however you spell it), even Monday was not bad at all. Christmas tree was already up. No parade. It was beautiful. Would do it again.

HTH!!

Aww! That sounds really good! We found out the Mickey Holiday party would already be running that week, so my original choice isn't sounding so bad! :woohoo:

You're convincing me to stick with the 10-15th (M-Sat)... (I really was hoping to not go the week before Thanksgiving, because that's a lot of time off work in a two-week period.)

Thanks for your help!! :wizard: :wizard:

We went the Friday thru Wednesday before Thanksgiving last year and the crowds were mild til the last day.We would definately do that time again.:thumbsup2

We are going in November too. I went through trying to make up my mind with dates too so I know where you're coming from! I originally looked at the 10th-21st. Then DH says why not go later and come back just before his Thanksgiving break so I switched to 12th-25th. Then we invite friends who say they can leave on the 8th for one week. So I finally settled on the 9th-23rd. Aaah! the struggles of decision!

My main worry was missing the Veteran's Day crowd but being that the actual holiday is Tuesday who can guess how it will effect the crowds. We will arrive late Sunday evening so may not even go to the park until Monday so at least we will miss part of the weekend crowd.

I am hoping to avoiding some of the Thanksgiving rush but I still wanted to go late enough in the month to catch the snow and see the castle all lit up. So I am keeping my fingers crossed on one hand and still just planning to make the most of whatever happens even if it is crowded.

I have never stayed on property but I can tell you that it sure seemed like a looong walk to PP for our character breakfast. I would probably just opt to stick with one hotel rather than moving and would probably just go for the DL Hotel. It seems to be a safe bet if reviews count for anything.

So what is the Mickey Holiday party? I must have missed that one!

Are you referring to the holiday party at WDW......Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? DLR doesn't have one. :)

Yeah, after thinking through again, I think we are going to stick with the DLH for our entire trip, and we're sticking with the 10th-15th!

So, maybe we'll see each other there!!

Aww...darnit! I must have been looking at it incorrectly! Oh well, DL will still be AMAZING!! :wizard: :wizard:

Yes, it will be amazing! We have never been during the Christmas season so we are really looking forward to our trip this December. I can't wait to see all the beautiful decorations, etc. Actually, I've heard a lot of people say that they are glad that DLR doesn't have a separate ticketed event like MVMC party, because that would close the parks early to non-ticket holders, and this way, we can all see the same holiday events such as the parades, fireworks, etc. every night and enjoy the later hours. :) I hope you have a great trip!

Thank you!! And have a great trip as well! :woohoo: :wizard:

Yep, maybe we will see you there!
I'll be the crazed Disneyland fan traveling with my DH, DS-17, DD-8 and son's friend's family consisting of DD, DD-17 and DD-14.
My teenage son will be easy to spot. He will be hanging out with 2 lovely teenage girls and have a very happy look on his face :cloud9:
He will also more than likely be wearing a Jiu-Jitsu t-shirt.
My DD will talk your ear off if she meets you in line.

Awesome! I read some other DIS'ers posts about how they wear "identification", so I'm also looking forward to that, and I'm going to make some kind of i.d. as well!
So, be on the lookout for two grown adults acting like complete kids, wearing both DIS buttons, and Anniversary buttons! :wizard: :wizard:

It's also our first time staying at the DLH!!! :cloud9:
