HELP w/ yellow Magical Express Tags!?

For those of you who have used ME before...I leave tomorrow and am right now trying to adhere my yellow ME luggage tags to my suitcases. Maybe I'm just exhausted or maybe I'm stupid (I don't know which), but the instructions on the back of these sticky tags are confusing! It has a little arrow on the back, and it says "remove this portion only", but the tags are all in one piece.
Am I to stick the ENTIRE yellow strip on a suitcase, or is there a piece that I retain to show someone at a later time? There is a barcode at each end of the yellow strip. Do BOTH bar codes go on the suitcase, or does one peel away and stay with me? For anyone who knows what I'm talking about, please advice quickly! I leave bright and early tomorrow morning!!!

As the picture shows, you remove the backing from each end of the tag, but you keep the backing on rest of the tag. You put the tag through a handle, and you press the two sticky parts against each other. The tag will stay on, but it won't leave a sticky mess on your bag because the adhesive doesn't touch your bag.

Thanks Horace. Gee, do I feel silly. After reading your post it seemed so easy! I guess I really am overwhelmed and exhausted from all this packing and planning. We leave tomorrow for our first trip ever and I just want everything to go well. Thanks for your help!
