Hi everyone!
We are trying to decide which hotel to stay in for our honeymoon, and think we have it narrowed down to three. We have the Magicard, so can get great rates at any of them. They all look pretty good, and they have free transportation to all the parks we want to go to (though the times are somewhat limited). If you have stayed here or know about these hotels, any advice and/or information would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. Any other hotels that you can suggest (under $100 and has free transportation to wdw, us/ioa, and sw/dc).
Here are the hotels:
Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista
Comfort Suites Maingate
Quality Suites Maingate

Thanks!

If you're looking for something under $100, why not stay in one of the WDW value resorts? That way you're on property & don't have to deal with 192. Any of the value resorts will live up to the same standards as a Comfort Inn. We do mystery shopping, and many of the restaurants on 192 are very, very iffy sanitation-wise. I finally put my foot down & said we just wouldn't take any more mystery shops in this area, no matter how nice a free dinner seems, because I couldn't deal with the unsanitary conditions we've encountered at most of the places we've been to. If you can swing it, I would do the on-property resort.
Cheers!

Best Western Lakeside has been getting some very good reviews. I got mine for 59.00 Canadian. Shuttle services to all Parks (Disney, Universal, Seaworld and even a shuttle to busch gardens and to Outlet Malls. Plenty of food establishments within waking distance as well as onsite!

Three Adult pools- heated and two kiddie pools, mini golf , fitness room, arcade room, laundry rooms and high speed internet. Fridge and safe in room.

I would DEFINITLY go for one of the value resorts in wdw. Free magical express bus to and from the airport plus free transportation to everything on disney property.
I stayed offsite at the Fairfield Inn marriott village and LOVED it but wished I had rented a car. Used the buses, but is was so inconvenient-there was a very limited schedule-only 3 times to depart in the morning and the evening only three departures back.
We found ourselves unhappy because we weren't able to come and go as we pleased. Our mk day, we missed wishes and spectro because the last bus was scheduled to leave before that.
Sorry so long  but just my 2 cents: I think that if you do end up staying offsite- rent a car!!! You will be much happier!!!

Thanks for the tips so far!
We don't really like the wdw value resorts, and we really need somewhere that is going to give us transportation to the other parks (us/sw).
I'll check out Best Western Lakeside, also.
Thanks again!

We have stayed at the Comfort Suites Maingate East many times. We love the cleanlines, roominess, friendly staff, good b-fast and easy access to all parks. The only downfall is the sssllllooowww elevators! If you use the site Hotelmartusa.com you can find it for 69-79 depending on the time of year. Hope this helps! :)

Have you looked at the Hotel Royal Plaza? I'd still strongly recommend trying to stay on property, if you could, and avoid 192 at all costs, especially for your honeymoon. We've gotten rooms at Royal Plaza for $89/night, and, if you don't mind a bit of a walk, you could always take the shuttle from DTD to wherever it was you wanted to go, so transportation would be better.
Cheers!

Go to tripadvisor.com and just type in the names of the resorts you are looking at. We are faced with staying off property for the first time in a long time and I am thrilled with all of the reports on that website.

Thanks everyone for the advice - it is really helping.
What about "Radisson Resort Orlando Celebration"? Can anyone tell me about this? (And is this on 192?)
HMP - how did you get Royal Plaza for $89/n? Did you have a code?
We may just have to bite the bullet and stay at a value resort for the first week, then move to another hotel the second week for univ studios/seaworld.
Thanks!

You could also rent DVC points from someone and stay in a WDW Deluxe on-site for under $100 or so depending upon the season (that includes all taxes and fees!). You wouldn't have transportation to US/IOA/SW, but you can rent a cheap car and that would be my ideal option vs. staying off site...

Check out all of the Downtown Disney Hotels. They are usually quite reasonable, all offer free transportation and are within walking distance to Downtown Disney. Hotel Royal Plaza just reopened after extensive renovations and is offering GREAT rates for a nice hotel.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding :woohoo:

I got the good rate at Royal Plaza through Mousesavers.com - they offer discounted rates. Just go to mousesavers.com, click on Walt Disney World, then on "Preferred Hotels" on the left hand side of the screen. You'll see there are a few hotels that are listed as "in the Walt Disney World resort." These are the DTD hotels.

I think the Radisson you're thinking about is the one on 192, across from Celebration. Close, but still not as good as actually on property.

Cheers!
