So I have Brother PE500 embroidery machine that worked well until yesterday. Every material I use thick, thin, smooth, towel like material gets caught/jammed in the hole where the bobbin thread comes out. I had to take apart the top area where the bobbin is to unjam it but it continues to jam every material i use. I put the material in the loop tight so that it doesn't slack but not tight so that the design pulls the material .

Not sure why it's jamming. Anyone else have this problem? anyone know how to fix it?

Hi
I don't have the same machine but I do have a brother disney embroidery machine. What you're describing sounds like 'birds nesting'. If you search that term it might help you identify the problem. I don't know what you've already tried, but if it were me, I'd check the following. New bobbin, new needle, check your tension( I'd go back to factory setting and adjust from there if necessary), what thread are you using ? ( it's for embroidery machines right?).
Lastly, I had trouble with my machine and was ready to give up. I took it to an authorized dealer for repair. He told me the plate was bent ( the metal plate that covers the bobbin). He replaced it and it was like a new machine. I had no idea that the plate had such an affect on the machine's performance. I'm sorry if I've stated the obvious. I'm just not sure what you've tried and how much experience you have with the machine. I also know how frustrating it is when they don't work right. Good luck to you!!

There might be some thread caught in the bobbin casing or even something so simple as a piece of lint. This is what I have done with my Brother machine: try taking the plate off (the plate over the feed dogs) and get a small flat artist paint brush and clean out the lint. I have been warned not to use canned air as it can force the lint into places you don't want.

I hope this helps.
