Been a while since I last visited this excellent site!! New home, new job and kids at senior school have all joined forces to stop us visiting Florida since late 2003.....BUT!! we're going to Florida late October 2006 for 2/3 weeks.(yeay!)

Any advice as to which are the best sites for home rentals in Orlando and/or Gulf Coast?? There's 4 of us ..kids now classed as adults at 13 and 14 years of age!....so minimum 3 bedrooms req'd.

I had the names of a couple of good sites..but lost them ages ago in a computer crash.......used to get some really good late bargains :) .

Any advice / pointers would be gratefully received... :thumbsup2

TIA

Hi Mike:wave2:

Nice to see you :)

Happy Planning.

For a villa in the Orlando area I would go for one in Kissimmee, just off the 192 where you would be close to supermarkets/restaurants/Disney and the I4 for Universal etc

We really like the Formosa Gardens area, where are you are literally a couple of minutes away from the 192 junction and a Publix a mile or so up the road.

Indian Creek is a development we prefer.

Cumbrian Lakes , a bit further up on Poinciana Boulevard is also fairly new and very nice.

Try and get a south facing pool as they get the sun all day, we also always book one with a fenced pool too for extra privacy.

I would recommend:

www.holiday-rentals.com

Many thanks for the links......

and HEY!!....nice to hear from you btw Squitty!!!. :wave2: .how ya doing?!

We'll probably go for Windward Cay....we stayed there last time and loved it.
Gulf Coast side we stayed in Dunedin, I've more or less booked the same house again.

There used to be a really good owners type site which covered all of Florida...and had some amazing late bargains. I recall it had a green layout to the page....but I've lost the link....any ideas out there? :confused3

Thanks again...........no doubt we'll be picking brains and asking questions of you good people for the next few months.......LOL!

Not least is how the heck our two teenagers ( 13 year old boy and 14 year old daughter ) are going to go down in Florida since both are confirmed Goths...and black is the ONLY colour they wear...LOL..At least if we hit Halloween Nights at Universal they'll fit in no problem......

Perhaps you all can advise me on finding a villa that's more secluded than the ones I've been able to find in searching the various links.

I was hoping that you might be familiar with the layout of the various villa communities to know if there are any that provide more seclusion, mostly when you're in the pool (nothing like a moonlight skinny dip, but we wouldn't want an audience  ).

In my experience Beth the only thing that can guarantee you a fully private pool is getting one that is fully fenced, we always choose one that has this and have always managed to find one.
There are plenty out there.
