Our next trip will either be the first week of March (Easter is in April)or the last week of Sept. Which would be better for:

Swimming (is it warm enough in March?)
Crowds
Cost (not sure if March has any usual discounts like Sept=free dining)
Weather

Help me compare: I have been in Sept and I know how hot it is, we do however like MNSSHP and spend lots of time in the pool. With a large family free dining is also a huge plus....
We have been in Jan, hubby liked those temps, too cold for me to swim.

Basically I want to go in Sept, hubby wants to wait until March just before our youngest turns 3. He thinks she will be better behaved at 3 Vs 2.5
ARGH!! help

I would think the first week of March would be a pretty good time crowd and weather-wise. We were able to swim some in March, but it was kinda cool.

I would think the cost and swimming would be better in Sept. Crowd-wise I'd expect them to be similar.

Personally, I would choose March because September is too hot for me.

The only age related factor I see is in potty training. It is easy to go with a child in diapers. It is easy to go with a child who is reliable on the potty and gives you some warning time. It is not as easy with a child who is just learning and wearing underwear but you have to drop everything and rush to the bathroom at the first sign that she needs to go!!

I, too am having a hard time deciding when we should return in 2010.

If swimming is high on your list I would think Sept would be the better month. It is hot but not the same as summer hot; it is easing up by the last week of Sep. I'm waiting to hear from a few PTR's now how the crowd levels will be; with free dining and some schools in the country have fall break (GA's started today).

March sounds like a great time for the weather (swimming, if the pools are heated should be great--the sun will be warm buy that time w/low humidity); but, I would worry about college and high school spring breaks to be starting around that time. I agree with the PP about your 2.5 vs 3 child althoug pull ups would work if at the trained stage but having to drop everything stage. We waited to start our potty training when we returned this past trip (we started before but did not push until we were back--your child may be PT already I did not read your stage :upsidedow )

March brings you back sooner and Sept you know what to expect you said you've been before/and your child will still be 2 so one less ticket to pay for ;).

So, I would probably chose March if those were my options!
good luck with your decision and happy planning :wave2:
