Hi does anyone know if the Coral Resort timeshare in HH is any good. My family is about to buy and I wanted to check the timeshare out before they spend their money.
I renewed my TUG membership but won't be allowed access until tomorrow. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it. I believe that they are signing the papers tomorrow so it might be too late, but I just have to try anyway.
Thanks,
Reginak

In the latest Timesharing Today Magazine there is an article about accusations of fraud against a company called Coral Resorts. The article was reprinted with permission from the newspaper the Island Packet. You may be able to search the newspaper. Timesharing Today also has the letter from the victim. Timesharing Today is available online, too. There are a lot of consumer complaints about this company in SC according to the article in the paper.

Very nice resorts as we have stayed here. Just make certain of what they were promised if they do buy. There are resale companies in Hilton Head. Also Hilton Head resales do appear on Ebay from time to time. I think there is a Carolina Club floating week still active now.

Hope this helps.

If they're buying developer I'd tell them to run away, not walk. The resorts are nice enough from what I know, just not anything special. I'd also reference the article in TST about the fraud allegations.

We stayed at Disney but took the presentation from Coral Resorts last week & even purchased a Tri Anniel pkg for 3 bd/bath, which included a "Developer's Week" that we were told that we could "rent" - sounded to good to be true. They really push the RCI points and the tens of thousands of resorts that are so easy to swap for (not sure about this) We loved Disney's HH, but have been thinking that we should buy into a timeshare in a "Hot Spot" for travel & then have the flexibility to exchange to other places.

My Sister & BroInLaw bought too, mostly due to Golf pkgs. My DH & I had 2nd thoughts after reading thru the material, it specifically states that no representation is supposed to be made as to the renting or selling of time on the Developer's Week . . .and it is subject to availability.

Bottom Line for us . . .we had 5 days to reject and we did, but my sister & DH have stayed on. I wasn't traveling with my laptop (no internet at Disney available) and really felt uneasy about the presentation . . .lots of promises & lots of DVC bashing from our "guide".

We visited with some resale agents that were helpful and suggested that Marriott might be a better fit for us.

DEAN - I've spent the better part of this weekend researching timeshare resales threads & I've joined TUG too. I want to thank you for your guidance with so many of our questions regarding timeshares . . . I'm sure you've saved many from bad decisions!

DVC is still #1 in our minds, but agree that it's best used for Disney trips.

Thank you, just trying to help and glad I could. I love timeshares for the right person, right resort and right price. Unfortunately that is rarely a developer purchase.
