hi all, well i`ve nearly booked, well got a quote on fri for 2 weeks at comfort inn suites lake buena vista ,its for 2 ad 3 kids in a `family fun suite` in nov flying with virgin inc a car-thomas cook have quoted me £2400 for the lot,to me that seems pretty good as i can`t find anything to beat it-its low as the lady quoted me for the suite and i asked her to double check as they have a standard room at this hotel that sleeps 5 with a rollaway bed ,well it turned out that the price she had quoted me was for the standard room but as she told me it was for the suite she had to honour the price!!
but my dilemma is that we have had our heart set on staying in a villa but just can`t seem to be able to aford it and have to go really between oct-dec 07 or after may 08 as my dd is going into yr 6 primary in sep and our school do not allow anytime off between jan and end of may in their final year because of yr 6 sats ,then once she gets to secondary school they are notorious around here for not letting you take them out in term time at all!!
I am tempted just to book it but do you think i am comprimising what we want just to go! Does anyone have great experiences of spending 2 weeks in a budget hotel and having a great time?
hope this all makes sense!!
thxs in advance liz
b.t.w the quote the woman gave me expires at the end of tomorrow so the clock is ticking for me!!

Have you checked out the Disney on site hotels? To be honest for November time this seems a slightly expensive - what age are your children? I have been shopping around this week for a Disney hotel and Thomas Cook worked out £1500 more expensive. Have you tried Virgin Holidays direct? Does the car include fully inclusive insurance?

thanks ,we can`t go in any disney hotel apart from port orleans riverside as all the kids are over 3,we need either a family room that sleeps 5 or 2 rooms which then means you have single adult occupancy fees,it includes car fully inc insurance ,this is the problem when you have over 2 kids its not standard and choices can be very limited on site (having the same prob at dlp)

Have you checked out the family suites at the All Stars Music? I don't know how much it costs for one of those, but if you do want to stay onsite it may work out cheaper for you!

the quote for all stars suite was £3500 ,in fact the T.A didn`t even give me the quote as i read it on her sheet,it came through and she looked and then said in her kindest voice"shall we look at offsite?"!!!
Anyway this could all be rather redundant as dh has stated that a)its too near to xmas b)going to dlp in march and tehn wdw in nov is overkill c)we can`t afford it d)he just plain doesn`t want to go
which is funny because when he agreed in the summer that i could try and get ot booked it was all fine but now suddenly that i can actually book something hes changed his mind
men eh?!!
least i didn`t tell the kids
and too make matters worse on what a good deal it is is that the flights alone on virgins site are £2000 in total for 5 ,so for only another 400 we would`ve got accommodation and a car

Hi

I don't know if you have booked yet, but if you book seperately:

flights... BA (from Gatwick)
Superior Villa at Windsor Hills ... findrooms.com
Car ... Car3000

For the first 2 weeks of December 2007, works out less than £2400

thanks everyone,i`ve spent this evening going from`can`t quite believe it` to jumping up and down singing we`re going to florida!!
was going to keep it a secret from kids till nearer but hubby(remember the reluctant one) had told them within minutes of getting off the phone to me ,had 3 mad kids throw themselves on me as i walked in saying how excited they were!
i think i`ll have to start a new thread for all my planning questions but just for a recap
we are at dlp DLH from march 12-16th
then comfort inn suites lake buena vista family room from nov 3 - 16th
wow twice in one year
woo hoo !!!

The Comfort Inn Lake Buena Visa has lots of fast food places near by and Goodings (highly recommended) grocery store, their complimentary buses to WDW are regular and clean.
Try if you can to get a parking lot side room it's WAY QUIETER than I4 side. The pool is great and so was the kids playground which is only accessible by your room key and the staff were very efficient when we were there in '05.
The food from the bar was really tasty and cooked to order if you are at all worried about the buffet type meals we suggest you get your food from the bar, kids are allowed in with parents.
Get planning and let the kids get involved too:goodvibes and remember to pick up the bus schedule from the front desk when you arrive it tells you how often the buses run to each park and return times and where to find the bus to return to the hotel trust me it's easy to find them:goodvibes :goodvibes
Make sure you order the WDW planning DVD ;)

Have you seen the Comfort Inn website? They have some great pictures of the hotel which scroll 360 deg and a link to the bus departures.:goodvibes
It's at www.comfortrinnorlando.com there are some shops very near to the hotel and a pub, TGI Fridays, Olive Garden and Goodings are a bit further down the street and a Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Burger King, Denny's and up the SR535 there's a Walgreens and a chinese buffet and Steak'n'Shake. There's also a medical center just down the SR535 close to the Days Inn hotel. Don't worry there are lots of public footpaths and crosswalks around the area.
Further down the SR535 there's a Golden Coral, Wendys, Chick-a-fill and a couple of others. You can find them on maps use www.mapquest.com by using the address and "zip code" for the hotel which is 8442 Palm Parkway Lake Buena Vista fl 32836 and do a search for shops or restaurants.
