Hi,

My Husband is all set for dinner at Palo, but not thrilled about brunch!!

He doesn't want to get dressed up in the middle of the day for brunch...............Is it worth it????

How is the dress code for brunch?? What type of food is served at brunch???

HELP ME.....I want to some help talking him into brunch!

Thanks.............. :wave2:

What food isn't served at brunch? Seriously check out Barb's site for the menu. The food is incredible.

We did brunch - not dinner - because we didn't want to miss out on a dinner with our kids.

As for dressing up, I wore nice capris, top and a little cardigan against the air conditioning. DH wore a pair of dress pants and a tropical shirt - pretty much the norm throughout the room. "Resort casual".

Deb

The dress code for brunch would be the same for non-formal dinners. There were even folks in shorts. I believe "resort casual" is the dress code for brunch. Go enjoy the meal, and don't worry about "dressing up"!

You don't need a jacket for Brunch, a nice shirt and slacks are fine. Most people were wearing "resort casual" although I did see some people in shorts and that disappointed me a bit. Why would they think it was okay to wear shorts to Palo when all the other restaurants request that you not wear them?

We also chose to do Brunch so that we could have dinner with our kids. The added bonus is that it is light outside so you can see the ocean.

We really enjoyed the brunch. My Dh dressed in a pair of casual dockers and a golf shirt. It really is not formal at all. Believe it or not, someone actually had on a baseball cap and a pair of "swishy" pants  I couldn't believe my eyes!

We are going to try the brunch next week. We will stick to the dress code, but to be quite honest, I don't think I would give a hoot what others were wearing. I'm going to eat, spend time with my sweetie, enjoy the service and eat some more....and maybe have a mimosa or an ice wine or two! Go dressed as you like - And enjoy!! That's our plan.

DH wore a jacket and tie and he was the only one there dressed up. Most people wore resort casual. He was mad at me because I told him to wear the coat. When we went for brunch we didn't think we would have a chance to go to dinner so we dressed up that time. Our server, Kris, was able to get us dinner reservations for that night! Woo hoo! But imagined how full we were feeling!

Don't miss it! It was fabulous and we left stuffed. The stollen bread is to die for and there were a lot of interesting items to sample that I probably would not have tried otherwise.

I don't know how you are supposed to sample the items on the buffet and then have an entree too. The food was very good. We have done the brunch because we wanted to eat dinner with the kids. My DH also work casual pants and a golf shirt.

I wore a polo shirt and a nice pair od dockers. The food at the brunch is great. I highly recommend it to anyone. We are definately planning the brunch on our next cruise.

We just returned from our first cruise in February. Five of the six adults in my group wanted to do Palo for dinner, and had no feeling either way about brunch. I was the one holdout, I wanted brunch, and I wanted to skip Palo for dinner. My feeling was, I had spent months dreaming of what I was going to order off of each of the menus that I looked at on Barb and Tony's site. I could not imagine which one I would be willing to give up. I told the others to book whatever they wanted, but I was going to be in the dining room every night. We all ended up doing brunch on Sunday. The family's reaction? "You mean we get an entree too..." Everyone was very happy with the decision, and though they all laughed at me before the cruise for all of the details I learned here I was knighted their personal cruise director after the brunch experience, and never second questioned again throughout the cruise.

Let your husband browse the menus with you, and if you can agree on a menu that doesn't please both of you choose that night for Palo. Heck you can always skip the regular dining rotation an your second cruise!;)

The Brunch sounds interesting. Like Deb, I like the idea of being able to try Palo without having to miss dinner with the kids (and without doing an evening "double dip" :earsboy: ).

When is the Palo Brunch offered? Is it typically on an "at-sea" day? What is (are) the time(s)?

I didn't mean for it to sound like that:( I'm sorry if it sounded that way. DH and I didn't care how others were dressed, it was a beautiful meal that we shared togther in a great restaurant. I just found it unusual.

We ended up eating an early brunch at Palo and a late dinner at Palo - what a dreamy day!

We loved the brunch. It is beautiful as well as really tasty. I didn't quite "get it" that there was an entree in addition to the buffet - but managed a taste of everything. And the desserts - mmmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm!

We dressed casual/neat. Some people were a little more dressed up (dressier pant suit than me, for instance) but I wore neat pants (not jeans) and a nice top and that was fine.

I though the brunch was one of the meal highlights and I would definitely do it again.

We went for our Palo lunch on the last day on the cruise.

Tell your hubby that the appetizers were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good that we ended up being too full before the main course was presented. We love the jumbo shrimps, the crab legs, the stone crabs, the fresh fruit. It's inexpressibly fabulous!

I have not even talked about dessert yet...

dtheboys,

We have planned the brunch on Monday at 11:30am. just before the dis meet, We have not experienced the Palo's brunch before but had Dinner and it was great.

We decided to have all our dinners in the normal dining rotation this time as they have new menu's and I like the themed dining experiences which are not on the Wonder.

Do what is best, but I would definitely try it, if not for the experience then for your wife. It's her cruise too.

I plan on wearing slacks and a nice golf shirt.

NOW DON'T SHOOT ME, AS we are all sailing together.

Kennyk

The Palo brunch is the first reservation we're making when we do our REAS package. Don't miss it.

And as far as 'dressing up', do as most others suggest and were dockers and a polo or tropical shirt. It'll be worth it!!

(And thank you KennyK, for saying 'do it for your wife.'):D

Seriously...brunch is only for those people who love good food and want to have an excellent experience. If your husband does not like everything from eggs to fish to salads to fresh thick sliced bread w/ strawberries and whipped cream to............. ( sorry had to wipe my mouth ). You will love brunch just as much as you will love dinner........................my advice is to " GO " !!

We did both brunch and dinner and we loved brunch sooo much more than dinner. The food was better...possibly because you could try so many different things. But the casual, laid back atmosphere....made it so much more enjoyable. Dinners get a little stuffy and feel a little more structured than brunch where you feast while the sun bathes through the glass as the ship gently rocks you!!! I would do brunch EVERYTIME and dinner only once a while at Palo.

Does Palo do brunch on the 3 night Wonder cruise?

No, unfortunately it is only offered on the 4-day and 7-day cruises. Brunch is offered on At-Sea days and there isn't one on the 3-day cruise.
