HI All, I was wondering if you veteran DVCers could give me an honest opinion on the Sofa Beds at BWV or BCV. We are traveling with three older people who will be sharing a Studio and want to know the comfort level of one of these sofa beds. We know we have the option to go to OKW with the two beds, but we really like the location of the BCV and BWV.

Has anyone ever gotten two beds in a studio at BCV or BWV. We would consider renting a two bedroom to share instead of two studios if we could get the second bedroom with two beds instead of bed/sofa.

Any suggestions!!

Thanks!

The sofa beds at the BCV's stink, plain and simple. I hope they are replaced soon with the ones they are using over at SSR that I have seen online because they seem so much better...

I have a real problem with the quality of the bedding being used at the DVC property's anyway. I think the beds used are substandard.

I've always found the "real" beds at OKW to be very comfortable, the pull-outs not so great...but I hope we have one of the "new" pull-outs for our OKW 1 bedroom in December. Have they rehabbed ALL the buildings, yet? I know they were up to bldg 37 or so in June.

We had one of the new sofa beds @ OKW this past week and it was NICE!:hyper:

All the kids wanted to sleep on it once we found out how comfortable it was.

DH and I both layed on it and it was very comfortable.

I agree on the Sofa beds and SSR has made a huge improvement with the new ones. The others are Sealy, what would you prefer?

I usually get the sofa bed at OKW and have never had any problem until this last time. We were in a GV handicapped villa. I don't remember which one, but it was further inside the resort. The sofa was impossible to sleep on. The mattress was on springs like always. The mattress itself had what felt like springs inside it. I slept on it one night and had to sleep on the sofa closed the rest of the time. It really left me hurting no matter how I laid. I have never had a worst sofa bed. I should have called and complained, it was awful!!! I will never let that go by again. They must have something better for the sofa bed mattress.

I've never experienced the sofa bed at BWV, but I've slept on the sofa bed at BCV twice and found it to be pretty comfortable. Not as comfortable as a real bed mind you, but after a day in the parks and a couple Tylonal PM's I was out like a light and suffered no back pain the next day. I'm 46, but a more elderly person might have problems. The pillows are what I have a problem with, they're hard and flat. I'm taking my own pillow from now on.

One thing that bugged me at first was that there's a gap between the back of the sofa and the flat bed when pulled out and my pillows kept getting lost down the whole. I solved that problem by taking the sofa cushions and sticking them vertically into that space.

I haven't tried this but have heard that taking a full sized air mattress and laying it on top of the other mattress makes it quite a bit better.

I slept in the sofa bed for one night and then dh had it the rest of our trip, due to his snoring. Dd and I shared the queen bed. Dh said it wasn't the most comfortable bed he has slept on but it certainly wasn't the worst!! He had no problems whatsoever. We also put the cushions in the space behind the mattress and it worked out very well.

Remember to ask for an egg crate mattress pad for the sofa bed...that makes it more comfy. Also, on the older sofa beds...a board that goes under the mattress might help if you are used to something more firm. (Both are available from housekeeping)

The new sofa beds at SSR are very firm. We'll add an egg crate pad to them next time. Either way, they new sofa beds are wonderful!

I generally take mother - so I end up on the sleeper sofa - It is not so bad.....

I do preferred the 2 queen beds at OKW and unless there is something we need to do at VWL, BCV or BWV - then it is my choice. like the food/wine festavial or MVMCP or MNSSHP.

after a hard day at WDW or even the resorts - believe me you won't notice.

my problem is that I always put it up in the morning - so after a long day/evening at the parks - I can have trouble getting the silly thing down. If you do E-nights make sure the bed is down before you leave for the parks.

You do realized that you are getting one queen bed and one double (not queen - but full) sleeper sofa.

Oh I would think that really tall people would have trouble - this bed is short (has to be because of the table).

Thank you all for your replies! One more question. The "NEW" sofa beds in OKW - are they throughout the resort yet? We are going in mid-february so do you think we would be able to get one with the new sofa beds? Also, Does SSR have the new ones throughout the whole resort?

Thanks so much for your help. I think we are leaning towards the OKW. Now I have to do some research on that resort to see the positives/negatives!!

SO.......
Can someone give me an opinion on the difference of OKW vs. Port ORleans. Hubby and I are partial to PO as we did our Honeymoon there, but now with two kids and the MIL and Grandparents coming we are thinking the Deluxe might be more comfortable. But we will most likely get 2 studios. So what really is the difference between that and a room at PO? Aren't they generally in the same location?

Thanks for all you generous people that take the time to type in an answer!!

OKW has 2 queen beds in the studio - the sofa beds that were being discussed are in the 1 and 2 bedroom living room.

OKW has more room than PO - 2 queen beds vs full size ones - a closet - a kitchenett - a much bigger bathroom - a balcony - otherwise they have the same stuff.

if you like PO - you will love OKW - the only thing I miss at PO is the food court - but hey you are close enough to go visit it!!!!

PO has connecting rooms - the studios at OKW connect to a 1-bedroom - so unless you are talking about 2-bedroom - then your studios will not be next to each other - will probably be in the same building not necessary the same floor at OKW.

I happen to love both OKW and PO - 2 of my favorites.
