Help required with Virgin Flights

Well, against all the odds Ive convinced DH to take us back to the Vistana Villages for his 40th Birthday next Oct. having cleaverly disguised it as a big game fishing trip (I've added 7 days on in the Gulf at the end). My problem is this:-

I'd like to use Miles and Money with VA but the flights are not showing on the website yet. Virgin Holidays have flights only but are £600 dearer in total and only have the 12.30 flight remaining outbound. (Accommodation already booked)

My question is: do VA only allocate so many seats to VH and save so many back when their flights go on general sale 336 prior to departure?

Please someone help, I can't sleep!

Yes VH will only have a small proportion of the actual seats available on a flight. As you say once the 336 day window opens then you should be able to see what VA are selling the seats for and any offers for FC members such as miles and money, companion flights etc. Remember the 336 day window will be from the date of the return flight.

Good luck in finding a good deal as I ahve heard they can be difficult to come by for certain dates.

Claire ;)

Claire,

Can you book the outbound and the return flights seperately as and when the 336 window arrives?

That would mean booking two single tickets not a return, but in past experience no-one has a trouble waiting for the 336 days before the return flight and booking a round trip/return ticket. I think that the FC offers are more likely to be on round trip/return tickets.

I would say 'hold fire' and don't panic unless you're looking at Oct half term ;) (usually the last week in Oct-the week in which 28th occurs  )

Good luck :goodvibes

Accommodation booked from 10th October through to 27th October - which is the last Saturday of Half Term.

With those dates I would wait if I were you for the return flights to become available before booking anything.

Thanks Claire, I think I'll do that - the £600 saving will pay to hire a mini bus!

Nice to see you back on the boards!!...We have also booked for next October but with TCD this time. Great to have a countdown again...Happy Planning :Pinkbounc Rachael

Rachel,

I really cannot believe it same town, same month 2006 and now we've both booked the same month in 2007 - what dates have you planned? Remember where I am if you want a coffee !!!!

I know!!! What do they say about great minds thinking alike.
We will be going out sept 29th till 13th october with TCD staying at Bahama bay. We love October time...may was way too hot for us but we stll managed to have a great trip last time, we hadnt planned on going back till 2008 but it was too much temptation. It already seems like we've been back forever.
:rotfl: Will now have to do every bit of overtime the Paget can throw at me!! to pay for it all but nevermind.

Looks like we cross for 3 days - you've got alot of extra shifts at the Paget to do and Ive gotta sell an awful lot of boats between now and then!!!! Hubby said he'd seen enough of Mickey Mouse when we left this time, so I've had to combine it with a weeks big game fishing in the Gulf! (makes a change from the Norfolk Broads!)
Did you find it really busy in May? I must say it seemed much worse than when we went in June 2003 - IOA was crazy even early evenings.
