Stan the videographer suggested Gary Fox. Has anyone used him? Thoughts? Suggestions? Btw, I would LOVE Root Photography, but I just don't think I can swing it.....

Don't count out The Roots yet. I would contact them and see if you can't switch things that you may not want in exchange for more hours or something like that. They were very helpful when I was on a budget.

I think i'd be concerned about how late in the game it is, a lot of the photographers book very early. In my research, I didn't find the Roots any more expensive than Misty or Randy.

The Roots were not willing to budge on the $4000 pricetag for my Escape wedding. They recommended Studio 222 though, who I am going with for $1200.

I really really like Kevin Keelan who is 1100 during the week and I think 2500 ? maybe on the weekends. He is super nice - his pics are great and you have the rights to all of them in the end. If you want copies of stuff or albums from him he charges the same price basically as some place like walgreens does. He is very very reasonable.

My most favorite photographer is Julia Bailey who Melissa and Robert used - check out the pics on their trip report. Melissa didn't think they were still doing weddings for the moment but they are soooooooooo amazing it has to be worth a try even if they are way way out of your budget. The only downside is that she is in New Orleans so it makes it a little more $$$.

You're right. It is late in the game. We just got engaged a week ago and decided to try having our wedding during a trip already planned with our children. Since it's a Monday, I've had incredible luck so far, until this nasty snag. In my research, I've found Randy to be the absolute least expensive (with his package with STVS Video), then Gary Fox (who was really nice on the phone) and then Misty (who was also very, very sweet and suggested both Randy and Gary). I may end up going with Gary, but since I hadn't heard of him previously, I just want to check all my options....

Yeah, I went to college with them and we're sorta friends (I mean, on fb, and hanging out in another country!) so I LOVE it when they get awesome jobs.....I am always stopping by their blog to see their new stuff.....you are gonna love them!

Yea their portfolio is fantastic. I am very excited. So I can't be too bitter about The Roots being really expensive, because I never would've found Studio 222 without their recommendation.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I think we're going with Gary Fox. I must say that I've been VERY impressed with him so far. He has already called me a couple of times and wanted to go over his pricing over the phone. He seems very personable over the phone. He also sent a follow-up email just to touch base.

I did finally hear from Root Photography. They were still a bit out of our price-range. But, their email was very nice.
