I've never sold on e*bay before...I'm selling a Mrs. Potts costume...it's clearly stated on the page that "will not send out of the US"....the person that won the bid...is in FRANCE.....this thing is gigantic...there's no way I can send it to France for $20. :sad2: What do I do??? Can someone please help...this was going to be my pocket money for the Food and Wine Festival. I'm just sick about it and don't know what to do...

I think there should be something for this in the Ebay FAQ. The winning bidder obviously did not read the terms & conditions of the auction. I would consider the bid void and offer the item to the next highest bidder. But I know that Ebay can be really obnoxious to deal with if the winning bidder should put up a fuss about his or her own inability to read the auction fully.

I would contact the buyer and let them know that your auction clearly stated you will not ship outside the US and the $20 was the cost to ship it within the US. Find out what it would cost to ship it to France and let him/her know how much shipping will be and give them the option to back out. Odds are they won't pay a huge amount to ship it there and will want to back out. You can then offer it to the next highest bidder. Hopefully they're in the US. Its really not hard to ship outside the US. I do it frequently.

I just told my daughter...she said it'd probably be cheaper to buy the stupid thing a seat on an airplane than to mail it to France....:rotfl2:

Hi Bunny,

Did you hear back from the buyer yet? Hopefully he does not give you a hard time.:sad2:

Since you stated in the auction the shipping price was only valid for the US you are not obligated to ship it for $20 under the T&C. Instead of just voiding the bid I would get a quote on shipping to France and let the buyer know they will have to pay the difference. If they are unwilling go with the next highest bid.

Technically you can report them if they decide they don't want it but it could easily have been an honest mistake, especially if English is not their native language, so I would let it go.
