Help please?

So, I have a new girlfriend

She DIS-es as well, StitchfansJr.

Thing is, she lives in IL. I live in RI.

She just came out to herself (and to me) as bisexual. We admitted that we liked each other...a lot. We just got together on Dec. 29.

She's willing to tell her friends at school, and on here, but is scared to tell her parents.

Does anyone have any long-distance relationship tips for us, or any advice for her?

Don't force anyone to ever make a decision to come out, you can be supportive and listen (harder then it sounds).

Otherwise, I think everyone has to find their own niche and path to follow, but being an ear to talk to is amazing.

Being afraid to tell her parents is significant. I'm thinking that she is young enough to still need their financial support? She needs to find her way gently through that maze.

If I may? Don't want to sound too overbearing, but focus on being the very best friend to her you can be. That is what a good relationship is based upon.

I have no long distance advice. I've never been in that sort of relationship. I travel much for work, but that isn't the same.

It's soooo tempting to make permanent decisions sometimes. Especially if you're younger than 20. I guess my advice to you both is to relax and enjoy the moment a bit. It's always exciting to meet someone you "click" with, and get to know them, and allow them to get to know you. Enjoy that, enjoy your new friendship, and try not to get too heavy, too quickly. Life gets heavy enough without our permission.

You are young! Enjoy this! Ya I know long distance sucks, but heck, now days you have the internet! Back in my day it was a long distance phone call that you had to cut off after two minutes because of the cost! LOL

But just one word of advice before setteling down with anyone....

Yes, we're both under 18. (I'm 15, she's 14)

I'm helping her get through this day by day, and we're talking it out. I'm going to try to go there this summer to meet her. She says she'll tell her parents then, but only if I'm there for support

I think everyone here gives really great advice!
The best advice I've seen here though is to allow yourself to be the best friends you can possibly be.
I've had long distance relationships before, and that was always the key.
My relationship with Jen began as long distance, and we communicated primarily by internet. We eventually met in real life 10 years ago, and we've been together ever since.
We had to make the decision to move together, because it was what we needed for our relationship. But I know people who are able to maintain healthy long distance relationships for a long time.
Just take it slow, and don't rush anything. And have fun!
