Help please!!!!

Hello everyone, I need your help. We are thinking of going to DLRP this christmas, reason being that we would like to take my baby sister along for her first visit to DLRP at some point this year, and thought it would be great to do it at christmas to make it extra special!!!! Our problem is that the prices for the christmas period are almost double that of the prices for january/february. Do you know if there is still any of the christmas/ seasonal events still running during the cheaper time or would the extra cost of going at christmas be worth it. I would love to wake up in Disneyland on christmas day but dad & Jude are a bit concerned over the cost. Also dad believes that the meals on christmas eve/day are really expensive is that true? I need help to convince them pleeeeeeese

Hi,

Christmas season is the best! (I've been at the end of November and eveything is in full swing)

If you go for the special christmas day meals (turkey and trimmings etc) then I think they are quite expensive I remember something like £50 + per adult in the Brochure.

However I think a lot of the normal Restaurants operate normal menus and prices.

You could save money by staying in one of the close hotels, Holiday Inn, Movenpick etc and getting tickets and transport seperatly.

January / Feb is much cheaper as the park is empty, its nice at this time as you can have the whole park to yourselfs midweek.

I would look at november as all the christmas stuff is on, it will be less busy , it slightly cheaper and there is often special offers on where you can get extra nights free.

In January the christams stuff has usally finished when the prices come down, though there is less crowds.

If you're not set on staying in a Disney hotel, then it works out much cheaper to stay in one of the off-site hotels over Christmas if you book it yourself then arrange travel and tickets. We booked the Explorers and Eurostar separately, and because we booked the hotel early enough the rates were no dearer than for November. Some of the restaurants do special menus for special prices on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day which we refused to pay so we had our Christmas Day lunch with characters in the Lucky Nugget for the usual price of 30 euros adults and 15 euros children. It was only their usual buffet dressed up with crackers and decorations but it was wonderful! All the counter service restaurants are open as usual with usual prices.

I do hope you can persuade your Dad and Jude to go for Christmas itself, nothing beats waking up in Disney on Christmas Day and what a fantastic first Christmas for your sister but if not, then I agree that November would be a wonderful time to go - you will have all the Christmas things but with warmer weather and low crowds!

I wanted to go for Christmas too Rhianna but found it too expensive so we are going from 04-06JAN07 instead. The decorations will still be up so we'll still get a bit of the Christmassy feeling and miss boring old New Year over here.

Christmas starts in the second week of November. We went at this time last year and it was great - blissfully quiet!

Thankyou everyone for all of your advice. I must admit that it would be wonderful to wake up on Christmas day and know that I was really at Disney it is something I've always dreamed of (I think that dad secretly feels the same way) Its good news that the normal restaraunts are open and doing the food at normal prices as it is one of their big worries. we've never eaten in the lucky nugget as we are usually too busy going on the rides to worry about a proper lunch but with Amber going this time we will need to stop to give her some food. Now all I have to do is get them to book. We looked on the disneyland paris web site for price details last night but it only goes up to october. Does anyone know when the winter prices are out???

Not long to go now until the Winter brochure, I'm hoping we can get a little trip in, but I'm going to have a look what's available, there've been some really good offers about this spring and into the summer season, so I've got my fingers crossed.

Christmas at DLRP is lovely. It was absolutely magical when a light snow fell over the castle. It can be cold, but if you dress appropriately (cap, gloves, scarf) you will be fine.
