Hi i am hoping to make my ADR's this week, it is my fathers birthday & my DF & i are getting married too, i have read on this board that you can order a cake (with castle on top) & a chocolate Mickey (wearing tuxedo - i think) with tuxedo strawberries.
Can anyone tell me how or if i can order these (we are staying at ASM) we are hoping to eat at California Grill so could we order them for there or any other way???
Thanks Tracey :thumbsup2

If you call and make your ADR and tell them you'd like to order a special cake they will give you the direct # to the CR dining staff. Hope you have a great trip.

PS those strawberries are to DIE for!!!

Thanks - hope i dont sound dumb but what does CR stand for?
Also can anyone tell me how much these items are?
Thanks :)

Oh silly me :)
Anyone out there know how much these items cost?

I could be wrong, but I do know for sure that the Grand Floridian has a bakery that takes orders, for their restaurants, and they do amazing work - and it tastes great too!!

So I would make an adr at a Grand Floridian Restaurant, even if its just 1900 Park Fair and then when you call the bakery you give them your adr number, and you leave a credit card for confirmation (it wont be charged until you receive, or you cancel w/o notification)

I ordered an extra special birthday cake at LTT , and it was horrible, it was a "standard" cake that had been frozen, the icing falls off when it thaws, they dont put your name or anything special on it, but they do charge you the $12 or $16 for it - not worth it imho...

Contemporary Resorts Calif. Grill Restaurant it is a "fancier" place, if you have the Dining Plan its 2TS, but they did give us a really nice bday surprise, with chocolate bar that says congrats...

Good Luck!

The price ranges. For what you want I would say it would be between $60-75 for that cake. Yes you can order cheaper ones. The cheapest one is $12.50. It's a standard 6" round cake w/ Mickey on it. It is genaric however and it's okay tasting not the best though. The cupcakes they give you (free of charge) for a celebration taste MUCH better. If you call and talk to them they will beable to give you ideas and prices.
As for the strawberries I ordered them for my DGM on our last trip and the plate of 6 w/ a chocolate Mickey cost me $35. It seems a lot of 6 strawberries but it was COMPLETELY worth every penny!!!

Also someone started a thread about birthday cakes and pictures of the ones people have ordered. You could do a search to find it. There are some really nice cakes there. You might get some good ideas.

Thanks everyone :)
One last question -
Would i be able to order these when i check in (check in Thursday hoping for ADR following Tuesday or Wednesday) or do you recommend i do it in advance when i make my ADR's?
I would be sooo lost without this site & all the wonderfull people on here :)

When you make your ADR they will give you the phone to call and tell you you need to order it at least 48 hours in advance.
I ordered one for my DD (during our trip) on Sat. for an ADR on Wed. It was fine.
Hope you have a great time.

Have you looked at that long birthday thread? Some great pictures and suggestions there as well!

Have Fun!!
