help please with the digital DVC card

even though our trip isnt until Jan Ive been practicing the new ways of doing things such as mobile ordering and things like that

I just remembered reading that now instead of showing the blue card now it has to be on your phone

so I saw a post that explained it pretty good--since Im not good with computers I need everything spelled out to the letter)

I did go into mobile "disney magic mobile" and it now shows 2 cards one for me and DH but I dont see the "Y" since we are direct buyers

this trip were planning on just doing resort things and taking it easy but we might decided to go to a park one day

how does this mobile magic get you into the parks we do have magic bands from early 2020 the last time we were there anyway of testing to see if they still work--I liked the band idea instead of everything being on my phone--

right now theres just too many changes all at once--actually we were supposed to go this past Jan but with all the changes it was just to much to take in when vacations are supposed to be relaxing

so any tips or advice Im all ears

I recently posted a thread on the Mouscellaneous forum. Not sure if you saw it. Somebody posted this:

Once the card is added to the phone, they need to display an information screen. On an iPhone, they need to touch the 3 dots at the top left. On an Android, they need to touch "Details". This will display the "back" of the card where it will show either "DVC Y" if they are eligible for discounts or "DVC ND" if not eligible for discounts.

On Android phones, you want to look in Google Pay for the 3 dots, not Mobile Magic. If you have an iPhone, check Apple Pay.

The Magic Mobile pass in MDE has to be added to either Apple Wallet or Google pay..if Android.

Once it’s be loaded, that is where you will see the …. For Wallet and details for pay.

Each owner now needs their own MDE and DVC account set up, even if they won’t use lit to be able to have the pass show correctly for them.

thanks for the help--Im very slowly getting this done Im at the point now where I can see both my husbands and mine cards in the wallet when I go into wallet--theres a few icons on top such as music plane and a few others--under that is has a card that says walt disney world with an apple symble and the word cash when I click on that it says set up apple cash--- I really dont want or use apple cash--now what do I do--
this trip has become such a headache with having to have everything on your phone--you cant enough just grab some simple to eat or drink without being on the phone--next well have to set up times for the bathrooms LOL

to be honest all this phone stuff is one reason we didnt go this past Jan--I could have never gotten to know how all this works before we left--

Just figuout one more step but now I don’t know where to go next. If I click the Disney card in wallet in the upper right corner o get a page that shows both my husbands and my card it asks for a passcode if I click I think continue I get a page with a QR what do I do with that.

Well you got further than I did! I still don't have a passcode on my new phone so I can't put my digital card in my phone's wallet. Sorry I can't help you further; I can only bump this up for you so others will see it.

Can’t help w/ the tech/wallet/phone card stuff, but your MB should still be good to open your villa door & for park entry if you’ve linked your entry ticket on MDE. I took several old bands in Dec. (to color co-ordinate w/ my clothes) & one d/n work (I’d deactivated some) but the front desk was able to reactivate it for me & I used my bands to get into the parks & the villa. I never messed w/ the phone - my tech savvy son did mobile ordering for us at QS.

Tickets are in your MDE account. They are not on your bands or in your wallet. Those are just a way to access them.

Both will work when you go to get into the park.

We spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to make this work. We are DVC and AP. We finally got it on both our phones (androids) with help from a CM on the phone, website loaded on the computer and phones in hand...crazy. We practiced but are still not comfortable with it at all.

There were many places at WDW where I got the spinning wheel of death and had to show my plastic AP card. DH's totally failed on his phone and didn't show affiliations. Our son and DIL were at Aulani in March and a CM was able to get it on our son's Iphone but it failed soon afterward. Our DIL is the engineer in in the family and thankfully, always seems to figure it out but we're not always there together!

We often have nice sit down meals (4 adults) which is $300-400 and that 10% makes a huge difference. I hate this issue more than Genie, lack of ME or anything else. DH's phone provider has had issues the past two days and was completely down Friday...between Disney IT and phone reliability, it potentially leaves you without the discounts you paid for. I've pretty much given up. I hope you have better luck!

Correct. If you want discounts or to enter the Epcot Lounge or the TOTWL, then you need this to show the DVC Y.

For everythi else, you can use the MB still if you want I do use it know for everything because I have an Apple Watch but its not required for tickets, etc.

To be eligible for discounts you show the pass on your phone and photo ID. If, as you propose above, your wife logs in as you and shows your DVC card and her ID they may not provide the discount.

The card has to be digital, and pulled up in MM pass. If you are together, it’s not an issue…but if she is alone, then it’s not going to work because she won’t be able to show a pass with DVC Y on it…and they may not allow her the discount if she is using your phone with your name and her ID.

I'm guessing that's why in my wallet when I look at my wife she doesn't have a DVC mention because she has to set up her own?
