Hi Everyone,
Im after a bit of advice if I may please.
To cut a long story short I have paid an £800 deposit on a holiday with Charter Travel which we know cant go on. The balance of said holiday is due today/2morro.
I have spoken to CT several times in the past (have emails to prove it I think) about date changes and was told I would incur a fee of £75 each per person to chance - thought that was fine.
A couple of weeks ago I emailed saying we wouldn't be able to go on the holiday could we 'roll' the deposit over and pick a new holiday in January - we just havent got the time to 'work out a holiday date at present due to our Charity and Church work.
At that point was told I couldn't change the holiday at all and I would loose the deposit - after a few emails they agreed to chance the holiday date for us once and once only. Also they would only allow us to pick dates until Sep and no pre allocation flights (we wanted to go in Nov instead but they say we cant)
So end of last Friday I sent some options to CT for quoting for different date/hotel combo's ect. I didn't get a reply until yesterday ( 3 days inc weekend )
Now here is my gripe - The quotes are well well over Virgin holidays online prices - I mean 1.4k and more over Virgin prices, they say this is due to not getting a new quote price but a date change price - they did speak to their manager and he reduced the prices but still well well over Virgin prices.
Bit surprised their quote is soooo far over Virgins especially as when we booked their price was so much cheaper than Virgin.
As anyone got any advice on this? OR is it our fault and we take a deep breath and bite the bullet and loose our deposit and go elsewhere?
Bit confused and saddened - feels like if we loose our deposit we will never get to Florida as my wife's very scared of flying and I cant see me rebooking
Blessings x
