Help please!! I'm having trouble with the Disney Dining Reservation Site!

I'm posting this in case someone can help me. It may just be my computer. But I thought I'd ask just in case...

We recently purchased a new computer - last Monday to be exact.

On Tuesday & Wednesday, I made our ADRs for our upcoming trip.

So I can go online to the Disney site & see both our resort reservations & our ADRs. It's all there.

However, there are a couple of ADRs I'd like to change - the times.

And, when I go to the Disney Dining Reservations board, I input all the different parameters (restaurant wanted, time wanted, date wanted, # of guests) & hit enter.

The computer acts like it's doing something for a brief moment & then kicks me right back to the blank Disney Dining Reservation screen - like I need to put in all the specifics again.

I've tried it w/o using our resort (package) confirmation #, I've tried it w/ the #, I've tried being logged on, I've tried not being logged on.

I've tried different restaurants - restaurants that I currently have booked & restaurants that I don't currently have booked.

Regardless, it always kicks me back to the initial screen.

Is there something I need to do differently? Something I need to do to my computer?

Help please!!!

:sad1:

As a first thing, I would try clearing your cache & cookies in your Internet browser.

If that doesn't help, try using a different browser. I used to have lots of trouble with Safari on the Disney sites, and Firefox and Chrome worked better.

I've had the same problem all week. When it takes me back to the original screen there's a note at the top telling me I've been idle 30 mins, etc. Not true!!!! Very frustrating. I just keep trying different things over and over and manage to finally get it to work. If all else fails you'll just have to call.

I'm having the same problem this AM. I made all my ADR's awhile ago but I wanted to try & find a O'hana ADR. I put all the info in & it seems to be searching then brings me right back to the original screen :confused3

Note: I'm not a computer expert, but it sounds like you need to enable cookies in your new computer. Make sure you lower your security level to allow cookies by going to Internet Options and Privacy. I never set it to anything higher than a medium, otherwise it can't keep the cookies necessary for the sites to remember what you have done. If that does not work, try using a different browser.

Thank you for the replies & suggestions!

DH & I have tried everything it seems!

DH even called Disney's tech support this morning. The tech support castmember said it was probably due to our new computer's browser being Internet Explorer 8 - instead of Internet Explorer 7.

However, when we first connected our new computer, we were able to use the Disney Dining Reservation site w/ no problems - w/ Internet Explorer 8.

DH even plugged our old computer back in last night & we were able to use the Disney Dining Reservation site - w/ no problems.

We just can't w/ our new computer - although it worked fine for us on 3/15 & 3/16.

If it were just a 1 time thing, I'd plug in our old computer & be done. However, we need an earlier time for one of our ADRs & a later time for another ADR so I need to keep checking to see if any additional times are available.

So frustrating!!!

From what I've heard- this is a Disney website problem and not a user problem. There are tons of people having this problem, most of which who have not changed computers or anything with their operating systems. It was doing this a few weeks ago and then the problem was corrected...now it's back to doing this again. It's beyond annoying! The site was working for me up until about halfway through this past week and then it started doing the same problems you've been experiencing. It's supposedly all part of the system upgrades they started in the fall. So, your best bet is calling and making any changes by phone. Still frustrating!:sad2:

on second thought- there may be some truth to what they told you. I accessed the site via DH's computer and had no problems on my first try. I even updated a ressie. Of course I just tried it again on his computer and it said I had no ressies...just pulled it up on my computer and it showed all ressies, but still giving me the same problems. So, I think it's a combo of perosonal computer matters as well as them messing with the site for maintenance. :headache:

UPDATE!!! I fixed it! It's the browser. I switched from Explorer 9 to Firefox and IT WORKS!

Well, it helps to know I'm not the only one! For a while, I thought I was crazy! (Well, that's still to be determined... but, at least, in this, I'm not! LOL!)

And, thanks for the update, TiggerTrigger!

I am not very computer-tech-y, so I'll get DH to look at again later tonight.

We're currently using Explorer 8, I think.
