Ok we were going to go with the DDP but need to cut way way back on the budget so I was thinking of having groceries delviered.. Can someone lead me in the right direction ? I was in hopes of finding something that was not as expensive as using Disney's grocery delivery.. Thanks so very much in advance.. OH we are staying at OKW if that makes a difference ..

There are 2 major services in Orlando that both service DVC.

On Garden Grocer you choose from the items they list (and are priced). If you want alcohol, you add it in the comments section.

On Wegoshop.com, you list exactly what you want purchased, and Marge gives you a choice of stores. You are given the exact receipt and pay a delivery charge and tip.

I have used both, and prefer wegoshop because I can choose my exact brands, sizes, etc. When I went earlier this month, I realized on my way to the airport hotel that I had forgotten my eye drops. I sent Marge a text message at 9:00 p.m. to add the drops to my list. She texted back that it wasn't a problem and I received them with my groceries the next day. She has my business from now on.

There are two main services gardengrocer.com and wegoshop.com. I used garden grocer and was happy with them but this year I am going to try we go shop just because I need specific brands and items and you can give them a list where garden grocer has pre selected items to choose from. I have never heard bad things about either one and people seem to be happy with both. HTH

We find it easier to rent a car for a day and do are own shopping. We get exactly what we want, it doesn't take that much time, and the cost is comparable.

I will second the nod for Marge from wegoshop. She is the sweetest, kindest person. It is very personalized service. She'll call you, give you her number, and arrive on time with everything you've ordered. We haven't used gardengrocer because we were so happy with Marge.

To paraphrase another beloved DVCr . . . I don't cook at home, why in h--l would I cook on vacation?

I think of this line everytime someone starts a thread about grocery delivery. Now, DW & I do cook at home, but even with the economy pressuring everyone to cut back, why in h--l would I want to cook on vacation?

Sorry. . . . I couldn't help myself.

I agree with you Dizny Dad. However, my DH is insistent that we try to come home with some $$ this year (especially since we are planning 2 trips next year--we have already booked our cruise for next August:cool1:). We have agreed that we will do breakfast in the room--probably simple things like cereal, etc. This will make much better use of our time since some can be eating while others are getting ready. That way once everyone is ready, we can hit the parks--we won't have to stop for breakfast. We do have some ADR's and on other nights, we will just see what happens:confused3.

why in h--l would I want to cook on vacation?
We always have breakfast in the unit. That way, we can eat without having to (a) get showered and dressed or (b) attract unwelcome attention at the food court/restaurant. ;)
