Help out a husband trying to surprise his wife!

I posted this on the scrpbboking section but I thought I would also try here!

While on our recent trip to Disney my wife wanted to buy a scrabook. Unfortunately she didin't like the Black 2004 design (which seems to be the case for most people based on another thread I saw posted here). Anyway, she kept looking for something better and we ended up leaving without here going back to buy a character one that she said would do! So now I'm trying to find a Disney scrapbook to surprise her with for her Birthday. To complicate the matter we live near Toronto Canada so I would like to find some place locally or an on line place that won't be too expensive Since I have to pay for shipping, duty etc. and in US versus CDN dollars. Any suggestions?

Hi there! :wave2:

I scrapbook and the store that I visit is called Cherished Scrapbooks. They have two locations -- Thornhill and Mississauga. Its a great store, they have lots of selection and the staff are very friendly. Their website is http://www.cherishedscrapbooks.com/

If you want to order online, try http://www.scrapbooking.ca ... The prices are somewhat better than Cherished but you will have to pay shipping and you will have to wait a little (although not very long).

There's also Mouse Memories (http://www.mousememories.com) which is an online store but based in the US. So if you order from them you may have to pay duty/taxes but their shipping rates seem pretty reasonable. They got a ton of Disney themed items.

There's also Michael's but I'm not too fond of shopping there... At the store that's closest to me, the staff are pretty slow and they don't know a lot about scrapbooking  I do go there sometimes when they have their 40% off coupon.

HTH :p

Another option would be to get the item number of the scrapbook they sell at WDW & call Disney Merchandising directly...they'll send it to you (they might even be able to find it for you without an item number). I have their phone number somewhere if you want it and I'm sure others can provide it as well. I'd offer to pick one up for you (I'll be buying a few for myself ;)) but I won't be going until July. :)

I have heard quite abit about cherished scrapbooks on other message boards.
Do you by chance belong to memorybook or any of the other canadian yahoo groups devoted to scrapping?

That's the Mickey album I'm using right now!

I didn't even know there were such groups Grover :p Where can I find them? I lurk over on the DIS scrapbook boards but I usually don't post because I scrap waaay to slow ... but maybe if I join I can get some inspiration!

Cherished Scrapbooks is a great store! They're really good about ordering any supplies that you want :) The prices on Scrapbooking.ca are better though ... like the Disney albums are $30 but at Cherished they're about $50.

Ohh you should join-the people are great and oodles of friendship and inspiration!

Those look like great options posted above but if she had her heart set on a certain one I can grab it for you when we go in a few weeks.

If you need it really soon, we will be heading down over Easter.

PM if you are interested.

PS Just be forwarned, I know nothing about Scrapbooking, so you must describe the item to the fullest!LOL

There is also a brown leather one that has a disney logo on it that my boyfriend picked up for me at the scrapping store in downtown disney. I like this one A LOT! it's very traditional and very cool.

Thanks for the links grover! I'll check 'em out this weekend :)
