Yuck! I have two little shih-tsus. One is almost two, and the other is almost one. They've been pretty good about potty training, but just recently, one has started peeing on the couch. We have never caught them in action, so I'm not sure which one. Gross! Not only will that ruin the couch, but that is just disgusting.

Also, the little girl (almost 2) doesn't/won't go outside to go to the bathroom in the morning anymore. She stops at the door and just looks at me...if I make her go outside, she runs to the door and stays there. If I let it be, she will eventually go outside by herself...She never seems to have accidents in the house, so maybe I should just let it be.

Any ideas about the couch?

I have two Shih-Tzus also, all I can offer is a hug. They are extremely hard headed, our female refuses to do anything outside, she has to have a mat! Male will lift his leg indoors if he's pissed at you. Stubborn little boogers, but so cute!

Any chance it is a boy doing the pee? and the boy still has his 'jewellery'. the peeing can be a marking behaviour - this couch is mine?

our boy schnauser would mark one particular chair whenever a manly man came by and sat there. Some men he was fine with, but some of the more macho guys obviously made him feel threatened andhe would pee on thier chair later.

He is 11 years old and has only been caught twice, so they know what they do is wrong, but will still do it anyway

Try crate training. It really works.:thumbsup2

They are crate trained. When we leave to go anywhere and at night, they are in their crates. They go to the bathroom outside on command (well, except for now the girl, but that is new).

This is something sneakier...I don't know if it's the boy...they are both fixed.

Also, I am now back at work (I teach) and they stay in our laundry area during the day with toys, etc. They (or one of them) pees and its really starting to smell...we have laminate wood flooring in there. I've tried doing pee pads, which the girl is okay with, but the boy just rips them to shreds.

Any other ideas?

Take your dog to the vet. One of them..whoever it is, could possibly have an infection. May need antibiotics.
