My husband just gave the go ahead for the WL....BUT now my parents are looking at joining us 11/27/05-12/04/05 (dh, myself, ds12, dd8). This is okay and the kids will be thrilled. My dad is retired military and is looking at SOG for all of us. Should we go ahead and do a disney property or save money and do SOG? I want as much Disney atmosphere as I can get. All opinions are welcomed.
That's a hard choice. SOG will save you money, but WL will give you the Dis atmosphere. Me, I would go for the WL. It is just a gorgeous resort. Never been to SOG, but I've read it is a nice place too.
I'd say go where you think you'll feel the most magic. If you really want the Disney feel, I don't think SOG can compare to WL. However, it would likely save you a fair amount of money which you could spend on other things. That being said, I don't know if you'll be able to get a WL ressie this late in the game for dates within the Thanksgiving to Christmas time frame, so your choice might be a moot point. If it were me, and I say this as a military retiree, I'd see if WL can handle my ressie and book there if they can. I'd rather save a little money not buying a bunch of baubles and unnecessary snacks and stay in a little nicer resort. Just my two pennies' worth.
