This is my first post to the board, but I want to thank everyone for your great input so far. Without all of you I would never have found Chapman Photography or STVS Video. My date is less than 1 year out, so I have already booked my ceremony location at American Adventure Rotunda, but I am stressing over where to hold the reception.

We will be having around 50 guests and are caught between the American Adventure Parlor, Ariel's, and The Attic. Can anyone who has held their reception at any of these locations provide some feedback? Thanks! :)

We rented the parlor for our guests to have access to the restooms (the reception was on the first floor). DH & I used the dining area as our hideout spot before we made our entrance. The space was very nice and a few guests went into the sitting area to watch the fireworks because it was so cold outside. It was a nice space- the only problem was the restrooms were on the slightly gross side (water damaged, toilets leaking with huge puddles, peeling wall paper, dark & damp). The other rooms were in great shape! I think the only way to gain access to this space was the 1 elevator which can only hold about 6 people at a time.

thank you for your response about the parlor. we won't be able to see it until we go down to Florida in May and we want to try to make a decision before that time. bathrooms are an important thing for me, so I'm glad to get the input

I had my intimate in the Attic (actually the balcony outside of it). It was beautiful! I am happy it rained!!

It was only us so I am not sure of the sitting capacity but I think 50 might be a bit tight. I think somebody else said 40 was a squeeze in that room.

thanks for the info on the numbers, maybe that would be a better option for the rehearsal dinner. the pictures from that location look so nice, I am definitely interested in using the space in some way.

Glad to help in anyway I can!:thumbsup2 If I had any pics of the parlor I would definitely send them to you. Hopefully, they will fix the problem with the restooms! You have a tough decision to make- these are three great locations that will be beautiful and a lot of fun.

Is your wedding ceremony going to be at AAR, too?

Happy planning!

:bride: yes, we are having the ceremony at the AAR. that has always been one of my favorite things at Epcot and I am so excited to have my wedding there

I never thought of that! The AA is one of my favorite places too! It will be a beautiful place for a ceremony. So excited for you!

I actually got the idea when searching for a videographer. Kennedy Video had a sample of a wedding there. It was a great help even though I ended up going with STVS Video for my videographer in the end :happytv:

When thinking about the location think about the decor that is already there. Try to imagine working within that decor. The attic is a very floral print type fabrics. In my mind it was kinda North East US - Laura Ashley. The parlor at AA we thought about as well for a location but did not want to squeeze everyone too tight in there where there would be no dancing. Ariels has an underwater theme.

Imagine your event and what you are doing for your event the elements that will help you decide on the right place.

We had our reception at Ariel's with about 50 people. It is a great location! Especially if the time of your reception it will still be daylight, lots of natural lighting at Ariel's. We didn't do too much for decorations, just really simple centerpieces and some linens for the head table. We didn't use chair covers and it didn't seem to make a difference. Overall a great location, I would choose it again! Let me know if you have any specific questions about Ariel's or anything :wizard:

Glad to hear about the good natural lighting. Our reception is there from 11-4!

I think that Ariel's would be perfect for a 50 person wedding.

On thing to consider about the Attic as well is you need to use exsisting seating there. The pictures I remember seeing have cocktail table / sofa and chairs type seating. It would have a different feel for a wedding.

Good luck!

I'm a bit partial to Ariel's b/c that's where I'm having my reception. It's bright, beachy, and just says "happy" to me. However, I LOVE the attic!! I wish it held more than 50 people. It is very Jersey Shore-esq if you know the area. However, I'm pretty sure 50 is the maximum The Attic can hold so it may be tight and I don't think there would be room for dancing. Good luck :)

Thanks for the great input from everyone. It sounds like Ariel's is a pretty popular location. Are they pretty flexible about allowing you to bring in your own center pieces there?

I am not having my reception at any of the above places but we did look at Ariel's and it is very pretty. It didn't fit my theme but if that is flexible I would give serious consideration to it;)

That is one thing I was a little considered about too because I don't really think that it will go well with my theme either. We are going to check it out when we go down in May, so we'll see from there.
