Help!Not carrying bags for the first time. What do minimalists do with their phone and no pockets?

I would say buy some shorts with pockets. If this is not an option I have seen enough women in NYC use their Bra as a phone holder.

I have pockets in my shorts but carrying anything heavier than a dime annoys the hell out of me. So, I used the cheap nylon backsacks when my kids were small. They were like $4 each, bright colors, light weight, and, even in the august heat, never felt hot.

I don't need that big of one anymore, so I got a much smaller one for next month, from Temu. It's about a foot by 6 inches? Will fit my cards, cash, phone, charger, sunscreen, disposable towels, chapstick, and our collapsible water bottles. And weighs almost nothing.

This also seems like a good time to complain about womens clothes and the fact that most of them either have no pockets or the ones they do have are basically unusable. Most of my jeans, the front pockets are like 2 inches deep. Hardly big enough for my car keys. So my go to clothes outside of work are mostly athletic type leggings, dresses with the built in shorts, or biker shorts with the side pockets so at least I have a place for my phone.

Also why don't womens pants have belt loops like men's? I mean most of my jeans do, but none of my dressier pants do. I don't think a single pair of my husbands pants or shorts are without them. This probably isn't an issue for a lot of women, but I have almost always worked inside a secure facility where you have a set of work keys that you can not leave just laying on a desk. Without pockets or a belt loop to clip them to, it's hard to have them physically on you at all times. You also can't wear a lanyard as it's a choking risk.

Biker shorts with the pockets. Cheap to buy a few pairs, easy to wear in the heat and the pockets are just the right size to hold a phone securely

I will say my phone did come out of my biker shorts pocket on BTMRR last trip. Luckily, the CMs did find it!

Really? Maybe mine have deeper pockets or fit snugger. Or it could be the pop socket on the back of it lol. Sometimes it catches when I WANT to take it out of my pocket

Even on my most minimalist trips, I still use a crossbody and carry it like a fanny pack. Between my ID, cash, lipstick/chapstick, phone charger, I can't make it without a bag. I will usually wear a skirt/dress that has built in pockets under it to keep my phone handy but it's not enough room for all my stuff. The fanny pack is wear it's at, it's like carrying nothing. For hotter months, I will use a carabiner and clip a small water to it or just carry it or summer/rainy season, I will clip my umbrella to it also. I agree, a backpack in the hot months is awful.

I do think a pop socket or even a bulkier case would have kept it in my pocket! My case is nothing more than a thin plastic one, so it's slippery in the shorts. It was fine the entire rest of the day - I just think that ride is jerky enough it just slipped around enough by the end of the ride it popped out. They did find it on a train car, not elsewhere on the ride.

I use a wristband for my phone when I travel, and it's really helpful because I won't lose my phone since I'm wearing it around my wrist. If you needed to carry a credit card or something, you can get those holders that attach to the back of the phone. But I really do love it. My phone is always out and ready for a quick picture. Most of the time I forget that I am even wearing it. Good luck in your search and enjoy your new-found freedom! Our youngest is now old enough that we won’t need any bags or strollers yay!
My summer shorts don’t have pockets and in case I’m not near my husband, I need something to carry my phone. The only things I need to carry are my phone and a chapstick.
What does everyone use? I have a lulu crossbody satchel but don’t even want that on me in the august heat.
What does everyone use that’s the most minimal? My husband can carry my chapstick if needed.

I have used this little crossbody purse for 8 years. It is small but carries phone, cards a bit of cash, pack of tissues, bandaids, and Chapstick and Tylenol. Not hot as it is cloth and strap is small. Easy access but can be secure as the two pouches zip up. Also not expensive.

For those complaining about women's clothes... here's an idea... just buy men's shorts. Who cares how they look? Go to Old Navy or Walmart and buy a pair of men's cargo shorts. If you can overcome the fear of not dressing to the standards of femininity, you'll have a much more pleasant experience in disney world.

Yeah--I have an 18 yo boy with a waist size of 29" and is 6'2; if I can't find clothes that fit him, tall/thin women are pretty much SOL. Personally, I don't have a problem using a pop socket wallet and sticking my phone in my back pocket with cash in the front pocket.

I used to carry a small crossbody that held my phone and credit cards. Even that would bug between my neck and shoulder after a day in the park. A few years ago I started wearing a RooSport running pouch. I wear it on my back waistband and it’s great. Keeps my phone, ID, cash, bandaids, and room key secure even on roller coasters and such. I love it and will never go back to the small crossbody. I highly recommend trying a running pouch!

I wear Ascend shorts from bass pro or sometimes Columbia shorts, they have a zippered pocket big enough for my phone so I don’t have to worry about losing it on rides, and my phone has a case that has a couple slots in the back that I can slid a $20 in along with my ID and my cc card or debit card and the shorts come in a short length or a long length!

Just because you don't need a diaper bag and stroller doesn't mean you are going completely hands free. I am not one to carry a steamer trunk of stuff but I still need phone, back up battery pack, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, chapstick, ibuprofen, water bottle (I usually have a cold one and a frozen one) and a few individual snacks in case I get hangry.

Apparently fanny packs are in style again. We all had a collection back in the day, but I sent them all to goodwill eons ago LOL. I wear a crossbody these days.

Fannypacks are potentially helpful for anyone planning to visit Universal. Over at Universal, bags have to go in lockers, but fannypacks are allowed on most rides. Probably the best option is a bag that can be worn as either a sling or a fannypack.

Whatever bag one chooses, look for one that is sturdy. We've had straps break in the parks, and that is no fun.

The smallest bag I would want to bring has to be at least big enough for a small bottle of water, especially if you plan to visit WDW in the warmer months. While it is possible to rely mostly on dining locations for drinks/water, having water always on hand is very helpful, IMO.

Also, if traveling in summer, know that heavy afternoon downpours are very common. If you have an ADR in the World Showcase, you might have to slog the WS in a heavy downpour. One option is to carry the cheap ponchos, but they are not fun to wear on 90 degree days. another option is simply to get wet, but expect to possibly get very wet. My personal choice is to bring plastic ponchos on days when rain odds are below 50%, and something called a packable parka on days when rain odds are above 50%. On those days, we bring a bag big enough to carry them. The jackets I'm talking about are thin and fold down into 1 pocket. Many stores carry them this time of year. They are lightweight, but make sure that they actually work for rain. Some of the very light ones are only meant to be sun/wind protection.
