Help! New Contemporary Atrium Club Concierge room or Poly Hawaii Concierge room?

Which one would you book for September? I have on hold a Poly garden view Concierge room but thought I'd call the CR to see if the 10th floor Atrium Club Concierge would be ready and refurbished and it will be! On one hand I would love to stay in the new CR room but I know it is Concierge lite and for pretty much the same price we can do full Concierge at the Poly. We have an AP rate at the Poly. I could not get an AP rate at CR but it is only t 5 dollars more! Help! What should I do! How lite is CR Concierge Lite and what are the offerings?

Also, we have stayed in the CR Tower but not Poly. We have never stayed Concierge!

I've often read that the Poly concierge is the best of the concierges, food-wise (presentation and variety) and the lounge has a direct-on view of the castle!

I'm surprised that you were able to get a Sep concierge in Poly though, as they're pretty rare with the refurbish

We are checking out of the POLY CL on 9/3 and they told me that they were refurbishing the Hawaii longhouse and the lounge in Sept. Sometime after our stay. If you are going later in Sept. you could have one of the newly refubished rooms!!!! That would be great!!!

I just called the Poly again and they said that they have no concierge left in late Sep. Just as I thought

This is for the first week in September. They told me the refurb on Hawaii is mid month. Can't remember the exact date because I knew we were going the first week. They moved everyone who booked Hawaii from mid September to mid October to other Concierge such as GF and CR. They also had Lagoon view AP rate for our dates as well if anyone is interested!

The CR Concierge light services are available from 7am to 4pm. Complimentary continental breakfast as compare to a FULL continental breakfast on the 14th which has a larger offering.

The 14 floor CR concierge service also provides daily appetizers catered by the California Grill, and nightly desserts catered by the California Grill. Light does not. There is a nightly turndown service, and they leave a little chocolate Mickey (solid chocolate) on your pillow every night.

No free wine, beer, cordial, desserts with concierge light. It also means you do not have access to beverages from 4pm to 10pm as they do with the full concierge on the 14 th floor.

We always found the CR Tower Concierge is not a value for us. We figured it would be nicer to stay in a Tower room (castle view) and eat at the California Grill or similar everynight and be ahead monetarily.

Also, this is also a year where I have found AAA rates are often beating our AP rates, if you can still find one.

I would choose the PR concierge if you are selecting from CR light concierge and PR Full concierge for almost the same price.

We stayed Poly GVC last Sept and loved it. We choose this because we knew it was more of a resort stay than spending the majority of our time in the parks. The only park we actually went to was MK. DD11(at the time) spent most of the time in the pool. She loves the volcano pool. It was close enough that I could grab a nightcap and be back by the pool in a few mins. Plus watching Wishes from the swing on the beach is awesome. We loved the pampering we got. Love that mousekeeping comes by twice a day. Once to clean the room and the other to turndown beds and replenish the towels, soaps and shampoos. The lounge and offerings were a lot better than WL. Especially the 3rd floor a nice area to just sit and read while listening to the Hawaiian music. Check out the following site for more on Poly.

Thanks for the info! I guess my biggest concern is that the rooms are old and smell musty as I have heard this a lot though not necessarily the about the Hawaii building. Did you think the room was clean? How was Housekeeping? Any other tips you have would be great! Your post has reassured me since we have never stayed here before! We usually stay at the GF and apparently have gotten a little spoiled!

Good lord, I've never had a musty smelling room at Poly! You might encounter this if you have one of the rare third floor rooms that allow smoking, but never in a non-smoking room (the only rooms in a "mixed" building that are smoking are third floor, so the smell doesn't leak into the room above it)

Rumor has it that Disney is making the two light concierges (the 12th floor at the CR and Sugarloaf concierge at the GF) into full concierges. I’m not sure when this is supposed to take place though. Perhaps you could find out about that from the CR before making your decision.

I'd go for the new CR concierage. Have you seen the rooms?? I personally was never interested in the full concierage because I'm not at the hotel enough to take advantage of it.

I think we have decided on the Poly! We are not checking in til the 3rd so we may miss you but we'll look for you in the lounge! I'm sure that will be our first stop after check-in!
