Just booked CSR for next August with the Dining Plan and there are some really nice TS restaurants we would like to try. The only problem is we have a very picky DD - she has gone worse as she has got older and in addition in the last 3 months or so has decided to go vegetarian as well.

In some restaurants, after looking at menus, there is literally nothing she will eat. She will be 14 when we travel next time and we wondered if sometimes we could pay for her to eat a child meal and save her TS credit for ourselves to use at a 2 credit restaurant later on or even allow her to eat at the food court (and use a CS credit) while we use her TS credit.

I am very new to this and would appreciate your advice as to whether you can switch credits like this within the family - she would of course be sharing the same room.

I would also appreciate advice on how to best deal with my daughter, who diet is extremely limited at the moment - even though a vegetarian, she doesn't like vegetables much and I'm getting quite concerned, though I am hoping this is just a phase.

Yes you can pay OOP for a kids meal at most restaurants or you can have her choose an adult appy, adult serving of the kids entree, and an adult dessert. I have 3 of those picky eaters so I know what your'e talking about.

I think you are right to be concerned - is she doing this to lose weight or just insisiting she doesn't care for certain foods? You need to watch carefully that she is maintaining her health. You may want to check with her pediatrician/physician, if you think this has gotten out of control, as to what you should be doing before it gets to a point where she is sick.

I am in the same boat. I have a very picky DD 13. She doesn't like anything. But maybe dessert and a plain salad with some ranch dressing. Smoothies and that is about all she will eat. We did book the dining plan, but I am scrambling for some sit downs for all of us to enjoy. We are doing a bunch of buffets, because she likes those. But me and DH can only handle so many buffets.

Does she like peanut butter? That's a good source of protein for a vegetarian. My 12 year old son is very picky but he like PB sandwiches (no jelly!). I always carry a Jif Single (foil sealed container of PB) in my purse. We order him two plain slices of bread and a side of fries and I make him a sandwich at the table. Some places have PB sandwiches on the menu, but not many.

My dd is only 11 - and what I usually do with her is let her eat what she wants, at a CS or pay oop for a kids meal - before our sit down TS - then at the ts she eats an appy, or bread, or has a smoothie -

not sure what to suggest about the veg. problem!

My adult sister is a very picky vegetarian (not saying vegetarians are picky, but rather that my sister is a vegetarian AND picky, LOL). She has had luck calling the restaurant a couple of days in advance and speaking with the chef. All of them have been perfectly okay with preparing something especially for her. She doesn't request anything exotic, of course, usually plain pasta or a potato dish or something.

I would just vary your reservations between menu restaurants and buffets - everyone will find something they like to eat at buffets. And then, for the other meals where she won't eat anything - just remember that snack credits are able to be used just after your meal time to fill up someone who hasn't had their fill.

All great suggestions - thank you. We will be going for a mix of buffet and TS - Italian restaurants will go down well - so Mama Melrose etc here we come.

Do the credits on the room key just say, in our case as we'll be staying 12 nights and there are 3 adults - 36 TS credits and therefore will it be OK for myself and DH to use some of my DD's allocation of TS credits if she doesnt use them herself? Or do you have 3 room keys showing each individual's entitlement (and therefore can't be switched around? Hope that makes sense.

Since she will be considered an adult on the dining plan it won't be a issue, they are pooled credits...if she was considered a "child" on the dining plan, then you would run into problems.

Yep, pooled credits for all adults in the same room.

That's why I dont mind dd eating something from a CS child's menu and paying OOP - then dh and I will go to a 2TS restaurant... I dont paying, or ordering what she wants, as long as she eats!! Its also why we plan on lots of buffets - and breakfasts (she loves the breakfasts!)
