Help needed from anyone who has stayed at Portofino Bay!

We have decided to do a few nights here to get the front of line access......but I need some advice! Is PB too stuffy if travelling with a toddler?! Which of the rooms have balconies, and are these more expensive? Would you recommend a bay view or a superior room? Are there any bad views?!!

Finally, we are travelling Nov 2003, when should I book and through who to get a good rate? I don't have any discount cards of any sorts!

We are staying at POBay again this Christmas and it is one of our all-time fave resorts - you will love it.

Our DS is 3 and he loves the resort, it is IMHO no way stuffy and the facilities are exceptional. The swimming pool is wonderful and it is a very quiet and relaxing resort. Another great feature is (as you mentioned) fron-of-the-line access, which is exceptional, especially with a toddler.

On out last visit we were upgraded to a deluxe pool view room and it was beautiful. All of the rooms (even standard) are very large and the bathrooms are beautiful and very large also.
We were given a villa room overlooking the villa pool and near the junction of the halls to the main pool. Most of the rooms ahve 4 large windows. The resort is very quiet, although also quite confusing - it is easy to get lost!

Everything about POBay IMHO is excellent and above 1st class standard, I am sure that you will love your stay here if you choose this resort. We are travelling there again this Christmas and we booked through Virgin - but I have heard a good way to book is direct with Lowes (the owners of the hotel) try visiting the website (www.portofinobay.com) for more information.
