Help Needed for a Vegetarian and a Meat Eater

My wonderfully romantic husband surprised me with a trip to my favorite place for our 15th anniversary (WDW). Now he is expecting me to come up with a place to have our anniversary dinner. The only problem is - I am a vegetarian and he is a meat and potatoes kind of guy. HELP!!! What restaurant would you all recommend? We will not have a car so we would prefer something on property.

I'd check out the menus at www.allears.net and see what looks good and not-so-good to you both. I'm vegetarian and do WDW with DD who is not. We've never had any problem getting both of us happily fed, but there are definitely menus that appeal to me more than others and that's such an individual thing........

Agree with Pezpam--check out the menus on allearsnet. They will also give you an idea of prices so you can choose something within your preferred price range.

DH is a low-carbing carnivore and I'm vegetarian--we can always find sit-down restaurants in which we can both have dinners we enjoy. If you want to eat at a particular restaurant but don't care for their sole vegetarian entree (most WDW restaurants have ONE vegetarian entree), you can call ahead of time (at least 24 hours in advance) to talk to the chef about other vegetarian possibilities.

I STRONGLY recommend Bistro de Paris for a special occassion.

I would suggest Yachtsmans Steakhouse, an excellent choice. This is definitely a steak and potato kind of place, very nice and they have a few vegitarian items on the menu. The chef is also very accommodating so if you dont see something you want talk to your server and they will be glad to assist you.

I TOTALLY agree about Yachtsmans Steakhouse. They are one of the best places for veggies and will make you a very creative meal - just ask. And you are close to Epcot for Illuminations......

My DH is a Vegetarian and we traveled with friends who were "mixed" meat eaters. Because many ate fish we went to restaurants that had a rep for good salmon. Pop Century had a few veggie choices including some pasta dishes. RFC has (according to those who tried it) a very good Veggie burger.

What about Jiko at AKL? Great place for vegetarians and carnivores alike. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is romantic and if you get there a little early, you can stroll around the grounds at AKL and check out the animals.
