I want to do something original, nice, special, etc. etc. for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and since I know everyone on this board has a wide array of experience and opinions I couldn't think of a better place to ask. Keep in mind that V-Day is on a weekday so we can't go out of town (we're actually going to a B&B the following weekend) but I would still like to do something special whether it be a great gift idea or whatever! Please, please please help me :goodvibes

wendy1974,

How about ordering out at a nice resturant, and renting a romatic movie.

Could you write him a poem and include all the wonderful things that draw you to him or pack his lunch and put a sweet little note between the bread!!! :rotfl2: How about some sort of little game like a treasure hunt where you give him clues to maybe find some chocolates or a card or whatever else you can think of!! ;)

I am sure whatever you come up with he will love just remember you love him everyday not just Valentine's!!! :love2:

Every year on Valentine's Day I make DH's favorite dinner. I don't make it very often, so it's pretty special. I also rent a movie that I know he'll like. Sometimes it's a "chick" flick, and other times it's not. I just try to find something he'll like. Then we eat dinner in front of the TV.

I'm doing this for DBF's bday but it could work for V Day too. I am buying him a 6 pack of beer (we have this fancy place where you can make your own six pack with fancy beers from all over the world) and then getting sushi (insert personal dish here if you want) and after we're having chocolate fruit fondue- I bought a cute Hershey's kiss fondue set around the holidays. Then I think we'll either go for a walk or watch a movie. I'm a little short on funds right now so I can't really take him out for it... not to mention I got him gifts for his bday on top of the dinner!!

Target has these cute heart ice cube trays in the $1 spot too- I bought some thinking I'd use them for valentines day. You can get candles too- I think I'm going to put a ton of tealights around the room for his dinner. A few vday's ago I bought these adorable wine glasses with a big red glass heart making up the stem at the $1 store. I served myself wine in it, he got beer :rotfl:

Last year we went on a B&B trip and went touring wineries :drinking: but like you said- you've already got the B&B planned.

Someone mentioned a treasure hunt. One night just for fun (DBF was having a stressful week w/ med school stuff) I made a scavenger hunt. I hid little notes around the apartment- they were all inside jokes. Like we quoted this one movie a lot, so I referenced it and the next note was in the DVD cover, then I mentioned something about a trip we went on together and the note was behind the picture of the place on our wall, or I mentioned a fight we had had over something stupid and the next clue was underneath the thing we had fought about... etc etc. You get the idea. At the end was a DVD he had been wanting. You could surprise him with something else that fits him.

Goodluck! :flower:

How about trying a new recipe together? Something a little out of the ordinary...add a bottle of wine, and it could be a really fun evening!
