Help. need to rent a mini van!

This would be for a long trip (taking DD back to college & a little vacation). So would need for one week. Any ideas on how to obtain the best rate & from which company. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I just found a better rate for my June mini-van reservation on SideStep.com. It is a monster search engine of all the travel sites on the web. I am now renting a mini-van for a week at $179, which I think is a great deal.

I also recently found a great deal with Side Step, for 2 weeks in July for Sacramento. Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia all showed much higher rates but Sidestep clued me in to a great deal with Dollar, $189 per week (base)!

My recommendation, book the cheapest rate you can find and then keep looking! I've been checking rates for months. If you have the time, check the major travel sites, as above, but also log onto each rental car agency website and try them directly. Sometimes their best deals are only available directly. Use mousesavers.com to look for discount codes.
