Help! Need input for NorCal trip on the way to W&D!

My family & I (DH, 2 kids, Mom, Dad & sister) are heading to Wine & Dine Half marathon in November and have a flight coming from Hawaii and stopping in Oakland arriving at 9p. We wanted an extended layover, flying out at 1p the next day so we are trying to find a hotel for 1 night but won't be renting a car. Are there any hotels with free shuttles to BOTH SFO and OAK? If not what could I do? I most likely will have baggage with me as well as the rest of my family.

Unfortunately, I doubt there are any hotels with shuttle service to both airports, as they are actually some distance apart. However, you could conceivably ride BART from Oakland into SF, and stay at a hotel that is in walking distance to the BART line. Though, if it were me, I would stay in Oakland that night, then BART into the city the next day. (Getting from Oakland to SF could take an hour or more on BART) BART does go directly to each airport though, though you will have to change trains to do some. (Not difficult at all)

BART's website is www.bart.gov and has more information about rates, maps, etc. It's a pretty great system, and remarkably easy to use, even for newbies.

I live about twenty minutes south of there, so I'm not en expert by any means. But, I do know the BART system well. Let me know if you have any more questions, I'm happy to help!
