DH just informed me he is going to have some friends over for the superbowl and would like me to make some food. Since i have never hosted a football party , I would love to hear from all of you on what you make, with the recipe, so i can really make this party rock!!! :cool1: thank you all so much for your help!!!:goodvibes

Order a 3 - 6 foot sandwich, chili or soup in the crockpot (the recipe on the back of the MacCormick chili seasoning packet is good...I add onions and peppers), chips and dip (sour cream and onion soup mix), cheese and crackers and my tortilla chips with melted cheese and salsa (dip), meatballs with a sweet and sour type sauce (frozen meatballs, equal parts of ketchup and grape jelly...melted prior to adding to meatballs)/

Hope this helps...

I think finger foods would be best so that that all the guys and gals can still huddle around the t.v.

How about velveta and salsa with tortilla chips? Not sure how to make it, but its yummy

I am subbing b/c we are having a bash as well. We will probably do hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch, and something else for dinner...DH wants to fry a turkey, but we would have to go and get a fryer, oil, and all that other good stuff. We'll have chips and salsa (I like to make homemade). I also have one of those little dipper crock pots and will probably do a warm dip. Other than lots of soda and beer (and jello shots?!?!), that's probably it. Maybe some cookies or something. Veggie platter with ranch dip. Hmm, sounds good...

This is so good and perfect for a Superbowl party. It doesn't look great going into the oven but is wonderful and hot coming out! You can make the filling the night before and spread it into the bread just before baking. (I'm not sure my oven took as long so you can keep an eye on it after 20-25 minutes or so.) Enjoy!

Cheddar Beef Pull-A-Part Bread

2 (11-ounce) packages STOUFFER'S® Creamed Chipped Beef, defrosted
2 cups (8-ounces) shredded cheddar cheese - divided use
1 (8-ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1/4 cup chopped green onion
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (1-pound) loaf unsliced Italian bread

Combine Creamed Chipped Beef, 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, water chestnuts, green onion, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, pepper sauce and salt in large bowl.

Slice bread three times vertically and approximately every 1 1/2-inches horizontally to within 1/4-inch of bottom crust. Bread will have a 'checkerboard' appearance. (It's easiest to pull apart is you just leave a little bit of bread together, but not much. )

Stuff all cuts in bread with Creamed Chipped Beef mixture.
Wrap bread in aluminum foil, KEEPING TOP EXPOSED. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of stuffed bread.

Bake in preheated 400°F (205°C) oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until bread is browned and crispy.

Makes 10 to 12 servings.

*DEFROST Creamed Chipped Beef in microwave on 50% power for 5 to 6 minutes.

I think I have some Chicago foods covered, but does anyone have any ideas for Indy? I've never been there and have no idea of the local specialties.

Thanks!

I have been serving this Mexican layered dip for years and it ALWAYS disappears fast.

Mexican Layered Dip

2 cans bean dip

1 envelope taco seasoning

16 oz. sour cream

guacamole (optional)

grated cheddar (amount is optional - we like a lot of cheese ;-)

tomatoes (diced)

1 can sliced black olives

chopped green onion

Directions:

1. Spread 2 cans of bean dip on the bottom of 13" x 9" dish

2. Mix taco seasoning and sour cream thoroughly and layer over bean dip.

3. Layer shredded cheddar on top of sour cream mixture.

4. In no particular order layer chopped tomatoes, green onions, and black
olives.

5. Chill.

6. Serve with tortilla/Tostito kind of chips.

I made sausage balls for a Christmas, they are easy and incorporate one of my husbands favorite foods, sausage.

3 cups Bisquick mix
2 Cups shredded cheddar
1 roll of ground sausage

Mix all ingredients then roll into balls and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

We have made the Velveeta salsa dip and added a pound of ground beef and served with Tostitos scoops chips.

Another good one for the little crock pot is the Little smokies sausages and we use Kraft BBQ sauce. I have heard other people mix grape jelly with their BBQ sauce, but we don't like grape jelly.
