Help! need advice on AKV and construction

On Monday I booked our very first dvc vacation to AKV, and no one mentioned to me about the construction noise. So after reading about it here, I called today and the woman told me that yes, there will be construction going on 24 hours a day, so we could possibly hear noise overnight.

We were soo excited to stay there and treat my mom to the view of the animals, but now we're wondering if we should take the chance, or switch to a different resort while we can get a room we want.

any thoughts or opinions? It's just so hard to know what's it's going to be like at that time, we're not going until April 27th - May4th. I don't mind some noise when we're awake, but I"d hate for it to keep us up at nite!!

I got the letter warning me of noise and really didn't heard anything.

so just don't know - you may be bothered, you may not.

yes, Kidani is rising. I think that is where the 24 hour a day construction is going on. I don't think that it is in Jambo.

Just back from AKV, we did not hear any noise day or night. I do believe that it would be heard from Kandi and not from Jambo.

If it were me....I would switch....

Why chance hearing noise while trying to sleep
Especially after they already warned you....if you do go and are bothered
by the noise....I don't know what kind of compensation you would get
because you were warned...

Being that your trying to impress your guests on your 1st trip....
Why chance it?

We were at AKL 10/27, room 3319 on the Kudu Trail. We heard drilling overhead every afternoon.
There were signs everywhere warning about construction noise.
The DVC village construction was on the opposite side of the building from our room. I did not ask anyone across the hall about construction noise from the village. Lots of construction until 5pm, I don't know about during the evening.

I'll be at AKV at the same time as the OP, and MS never told me about any construction noise. I'd assumed (but perhaps I'm wrong) that by then, the only construction will be coming from the new building, and that's way off from what I remember seeing last time I stopped in. Does anyone know if there's supposed to be construction in Jambo house in late April/early May 2008? I guess we'll find out together, lauriegs.
