My traveling buddy is Lesbian are there any special activities between Feb. 11 through Feb. 15? I want to make sure we both have fun in this trip. So far I have organized everything and she doesnt seem interested in anything I am planning. She just said arrange everything and tell me how much I need to pay. Which is ok it's just what if she doesnt like the activities I plan.

HELP

are you traveling to WDW? I don't think the fact that your traveling partner is lesbian, is an issue. She should have a great time!

I am sure that your buddy will be fine once you get there. My partner hates the whole planning thing. She loves being there once she gets there, but if the planning were left to her, we would get nothing done. If your buddy has never gone before, she most likely has no idea how big WDW is or just how magical it can be.

I am sure that your plans are wonderful and that both of you will have a great time. The best magic of all usually isn't anything that was planned in advance, it's something that just happens along the way.

I really hope she will have fun because all she keeps saying is you arrange everything I'll just show up. The fact that she is Lesbian doesn't bug me but maybe there where activities in WDW that I can schedule so we can go and I can experience new things.

Thanks that is very comforting to know am not the only one in this. She hates planning I'm guessing.
You are right The best magic happens along the way.

So am just going to let her make decisions when we get there.

So, what do your plans look like? I would love to see your itinerary. I am a geek like that. :rotfl:

Ok we will be getting to SSR around 12 noon. Check in and relax maybe grab a bite to eat because A (my buddy) told me she wants to realx a bit before we start walking and exploring the parks.

I know the parks we are going to hit I really don;t have the rides out yet.

Once that happens we will go to AK they have EMH I dont know how long they stay open if it is at night versus the day?
Well I have done some reasearch and in ohter threads I have had ppl give there opinions but mostly I have heard of Lion King, Finding Nemo shows and the Safari Jungle. I dont know what else is out there in AK:confused3 ?

Day two we will go to MK. MK has EMH in the morning and Hollywood Studios at night.

Honestly know that I think of it and am looing at it I really dont have any plans completely. All A really wants is Rollercoaster. So know am confuse I do know about the 15th of Feb. that will be going to DTD to shop and go back to SSR and roam around explore and relax.

HELP I am so glad you asked me. :)

FEB. 11-15 2009

Our plane arrives 10:00am
11th EMH Evening Animal Kingdom
12th EMH Morning Magic Kingdom Evening Hollywood Studios
13th EMH Evening Epcot
14th EMH Morning Hollywood Studios
15th RELAX. Our plane leaves 5:35pm

I figured since SSR provides Magical Express Bus to the airport and back. I figured we would be waiting for a while until the bus is full. So that's why my estimate time is noon at arriving at the hotel. I dont know how it works really or how long it takes to get from the airport to SSR:confused3 .

Help me please:flower3:

Thanks in advance.

You can use this time to explore SSR too. It's a huge resort. The Turf Room is now serving meals in addition to drinks. SSR is a short walk from DTD so you could also do that, or take a ferry over.

I know the parks we are going to hit I really don;t have the rides out yet.

Tons. I love AK. It's a park that requires full appreciation and attention to the extreme detail. Move slowly through the park and take in everything. There are several other shows (the bird show is great, if you are into birds-which we are) and the two walking trails. We love the Pangani forest trail. It's where the gorillas live. The Maharajah Jungle trail has the tigers (and many other animals too). Don't miss Conservation Station (Rafiki's Planet Earth) just for the fun of the train ride. There is the Dinosaur attraction which is a pretty intense ride, as well as the newish Everest. Much to do in this park. Plan a full day.

Day two we will go to MK. MK has EMH in the morning and Hollywood Studios at night. MK will take a full day and you won't finish the park. I'd not plan on doing any other park along with this one in the same day.

Our plane arrives 10:00am
11th EMH Evening Animal Kingdom
12th EMH Morning Magic Kingdom Evening Hollywood Studios
13th EMH Evening Epcot You'll need a full day at EPCOT.
14th EMH Morning Hollywood StudiosSave HS for this day, and don't try to fit it in on the MK day.
15th RELAX. Our plane leaves 5:35pm

It's not so much waiting for the bus to fill as it is going to the many different resorts. No real way to tell how long it may take. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

While it is good to have some idea of what you want to do in each park, be sure to not schedule every minute. You'll definitely want some time for spontaneous things. There is so much to see and do that you need to understand you won't do it all. If you don't have a good grasp of what is available in each park, I strongly recommend you get a guide book and have a look at it. If you don't want to buy one, try the library. They may have a 2009 or 2008 one.

Help me please

Thanks in advance.

How does the fact that she is a lesbian have anything to do w/ what she likes or dislikes? :confused3

FEB. 11-15 2009

Our plane arrives 10:00am
11th EMH Evening Animal Kingdom
12th EMH Morning Magic Kingdom Evening Hollywood Studios
13th EMH Evening Epcot
14th EMH Morning Hollywood Studios
15th RELAX. Our plane leaves 5:35pm

On arrival day, I try to stay out of the parks usually. If we do go to a park that day, it's usually Epcot. Mostly because we love the World Showcase and love to dine there.

I love AM EMH, but I usually want to escape the park that we started in because it does tend to fill up with lots of folks by 11:30-noonish.

Evening EMH, not on your life, unless it's MK PM EMH and then we can talk. I don't do a late night followed by early mornings and I try not to let a day that starts early end late without a morning or a day off following, just so that I don't end up hating myself and the mouse. In the beginning, I don't believe that newbies really get the value out of EMH's. There is so much to keep you in awe that there really isn't much need to even hop. Also, for a very short trip like you have, I would skip AK. I love the place, it's my favorite park, but it's not necessarily going to be the park that most people are just dying to go to WDW for. So, if one park has to get the ax, I chop AK with the next nod for the chopping block going to DHS.

If I was going to be doing your park days, this would be my plan.....

FEB. 11-15 2009

Our plane arrives 10:00am
11th After getting settled in the room, go have lunch at the Turf Club and then head over to Epcot.
12th Be at AK at rope drop and later hop to DHS for evening EMH
13th Be at MK at rope drop. Play until you drop. ;)
14th EMH Morning Hollywood Studios then hop to EP
15th RELAX. Our plane leaves 5:35pm

Oh, and if you want to learn about all of the parks in great detail, check out www.allears.net

How does the fact that she is a lesbian have anything to do w/ what she likes or dislikes? :confused3

I believe the OP was attempting to make sure that if there were any GLBT activities going on during their stay that she knew about them and could attempt to work them into their plans so as to make her buddy extra happy.

I dunno...my being a lesbian certainly affects what I like and don't care for. :teeth: :teeth: :scared:

First off, I want to say that I think it is awesome that you are trying to accommodate the interests of your LGBT friend. Really cool of you to come here and ask for advice on this issue.

As for planning the trip, I think both of you will have a good time no matter what you plan. Personally, I wouldn't try to plan too much if this is your first trip to the world. Just seeing the different parks takes up a lot of time so trying to plan a bunch of other little things may prove stressful. Anyways, have a great time and report back to us on how well things went. :goodvibes

The fact that she is a lesbian has nothing to do with her likes and dislikes. She and I share a lot of "likes and dislikes" I am asking because I am trying to see if maybe just maybe there is an event going on that she will be interested in. I want to also see the events and have new experiences. I am trying to find things to do for her because I have planned what I want to do in this trip I wanted to see if I could find something she would enjoy.

I would open this thread if I didnt care about her opinions and "likes and dislikes."

Thanks I also think it is going to work out. It's too stressful making detailed plans. I know once I get there I will be too excited to follow my detailed plans. :rotfl2:

I completely understand although I see everything upsidedown:upsidedow from your Point of View. :)

Thanks for understanding on what made me open this thread. I care for her she is my Best friend and I know she will do anything for me so I wanna make sure I can do the same for her.

Thanks for giving me tips I am beginning to figure out that it won't matter how I plan this it will come out the way it's supposed to be a magical adventure. pixiedust:

Thanks everyone for helping and giving me advice on this matter.:grouphug:

Now it's less than two weeks left any last minute advice?

I talked to A ans she says the only thing she really wants is Rollercoasters.

This brings me to the next questions which are the best rollercoasters out there?

What are the good rides at each park?

I talked to A ans she says the only thing she really wants is Rollercoasters.

This brings me to the next questions which are the best rollercoasters out there?

Disney has some great parks, but thrilling rollercoasters are not their strongest point. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy what they have to offer, but it's very tame compared to a real coaster park, like Cedar Point, or so I hear.

Everyone's taste is a bit different, but in order of how much I enjoy the rollercoasters of WDW, here's my list.....
1. Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road at MK....it's got old school charm, no loops, but some good fast tight turns and belly drops. Without a doubt, this is my favorite of all that WDW offers.
2. Expedition Everest at AK.....another ride with some of the same charms as BTMRR, but the backwards track and the Yeti make the ride. My favorite part is actually the design of the que. I love the details.
3. Rock-n-Rollercoaster at DHS.....with three inverts, it's hard not to appreciate the adrenaline rush. I love the super smooth track and the Aerosmith songs.
4. Space Mountain at MK....this is an OLD coaster. It's a classic that is in need of an update in a big way. Thankfully, it is going to get at least a bit of an upgrade because it's going down in April for a long rehab. I love the ride, but, the sad part is that the ride is so rough that it kills my neck.
5. The Maelstrom at the Norway pavillon at Epcot....I hesitate to include it, because I rode it once in 2002, deemed it to be lame and haven't gone back. You however, might love it, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

What is Rope Drop???:confused3

Rope Drop is another term for park opening. Typically, you will be able to go through the turnstiles before the official opening hour, but at a certain physical point (down Main Street for example) there will be a rope blocking the way with cast members in attendance. At the point that the cast members drop the rope, the rest of the park is officially open and all hell breaks loose as people run to their favorite attraction.
